For any who are always hearing this from creationists, fundamentalists, or Christians in general, here's a scenario that you can run them through:
Christian: "Jesus loves you ( me)"
You: "How do you know that? Did he say that to you?"
Christian: "Jesus loves all of us"
You: "How would you know that?"
Christian: "I know because of the Bible"
You: "But he didn't actually say it to you, or me, did he?"
Christian: "I just know it is so because of the Bible"
You: "What if I were to tell you that Jessica Alba (if it's a girl, substitute Alba for a male celebrity) loves you deeply.
Christian: "No she doesn't"
You: "Why don't you think so?"
Christian: "Because she didn't say it to me, nor has she ever spoken to me"
You: "But what if I told you it was written in a book, and that it says Jessica Alba loves not only you, but all of us"
Christian: "Just because it says it in a book doesn't make it true"
You: "So, why is it that when I tell you that I read in a book that Jessica Alba loves you, that you don't believe me, because you are unconvinced due to lack of evidence but, when told the exact same story, with a demigod substituted in the place of Alba, you require no evidence, and believe it without question?
I have done this two times to two different people, and the only response I get is "You just have to believe", which is code for "you just have fall into a persistive vegetative state".
