Greetings everyone. I'm Louis TH. I'm here because you people have some interesting discussions and I can use your help with a few things. I'll create topics about them soon.

And a little about myself. I'm a Batchelors Science in Aerospace Engineering. And for those who don't know what that is, you ever heard the term rocket scientist?

Unfortunately, there aren't many openings in the industry right now. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi Louis, and welcome to LoR!

I took the liberty of editing your post a bit. I took this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
For some reason when you embed a YouTube video, all it wants is the video ID itself, which is those random letters at the end of the URL.

Anyway, stop by our chatroom sometime if you're into that sort of thing.

Enjoy your stay. :)

Hello.

I'm more of a librarian than an aerospace engineer so can't help your career, but I'm sure we'll have common ground somewhere... Easiest way to find some is the proverbial: cake or pie?

That keeps happening to me. What did you do to set it up so where it actually shows the video instead of the ID?

This should clear things up:
Code:
Correct: [media=youtube]K-o9lo-1lLs[/media]

Incorrect: [Youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-o9lo-1lLs[/Youtube]

He said what he did: "I took this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v="

In response to what Gnug215 said, the reason why it only wants the video ID is because the base URL is redundant. Everyone will specify that same base URL. It has nothing to do with the video at all. It's a feature and not a bug!

The real question is why people don't use the preview feature and ensure that their posts look okay?

It's a feature that confuses a lot of people, though. Including me when I first tried it! :)

What preview feature?

Ahem, kidding. It's an extra step, really. I tend to just post, and then look at the posted post - and use edit if needed.

Same here, post and edit later. But it is reasonable to preview first (perfectionists >.<)
