Recommend Some Console Games

My LoveFilm list is getting short and I need to fill it with some games. Ideally they need to be relatively short single player games so I don't keep them too long thus making it less worth renting them.

Gimme some ideas and I'll say if I've played em or not :)

I have a PS3, XBox 360 and Wii (though there are very few games I like playing on it) btw :)

Wii-

Metriod Prime games, (they released all three for the wii)
Metriod: Other M
Zelda
Mario Galaxy

X-box:

If you like shooters:

Halo
Call Of Duty

Fighters:

Soul Calibre
Super Street Fighter 4
Tekken

you know, genre of games that you like to play would help narrow down recomendations a bit

Short single player games?

Uncharted games - PS3
Ratchet and Clank games - PS3
Braid - PS3, 360
Mass effect games - PC, 360, and part 2 is being ported to PS3 soon.
Bioshock games -PC, PS3, 360
Infamous - PS3
Metroid Prime Trilogy - Wii (It's 3 games so the accumulated length is long. However, they can be beaten quick individually.)
Zelda: TP - Wii
Mario Galaxy games - Wii
God of War 3 - PS3

These are both splendiferous games (at least on the PC, I haven't bought a console since the PS2) but I feel that they don't quite fit into the "not too long" category...

Thanks for the suggestions so far :D

I'm just going to simply cross out the ones I've played to save time :p

I'm into all sorts really, fairly short ones with a good story are best suited for renting really...

I used to hate Mega Man when I was a kid, because I was really bad at it :S None of these appear to be available on LoveFilm anyway :p

I love pretty much all BioWare games, I have a great number of them purchased :)

I should probably mention that generally I'm not that keen on First Person Shooters on consoles, mostly cos I can't aim for shit.

Metroid Prime Trilogy - Wii (It's 3 games so the accumulated length is long. However, they can be beaten quick individually.) - Am willing to give these a go, added to my list They are some of the best games that did not get "Halo" popularity status. Hope you like.
God of War 3 - PS3 - Never played any of these, is it worth me playing any previous ones? Honestly the franchise hasn't changed significantly enough for me to seriously recommend playing the entire series. If you play one, you've played them all.

Also, I got to recommend another game. I can't believe I forgot it, but if you haven't played it at all, you should play Okami. It's on the PS2, and Wii as well but the control scheme takes some adjusting.

ok serious suggestions here, and these are things I play and love.

Masters of Orion 2
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Far Cry 2

And a couple really good indie games.

Alien Dominion - a ball turret FPS on rails, very well built at http://www.blackfiregames.com/

Recettear - available on Steam, an English translation of a Japanese indie game. Very well done, tongue in cheek RPG starring the item shop owner who buys and sells whatever trash the adventurers find in dungeons.

Masters of Orion 2 - Wasn't released on console and isn't really a short game.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri - Same as above.
Far Cry 2 - I may try this, I played the original and was a big disappointed. My only gripe is my inability to play FPS games on consoles

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Halo ODST - I was told this was a big disappointment so haven't bothered, I only recently played Halo 3 and was told to not bother with ODST and go straight for Reach

PS3 -
Little Big Planet

This is a game I played in highschool. I don't know if you'll enjoy it, but to me, it's the best storyline I've encountered in a console game, except maybe for final fantasy tactics. Both are ps1 games.

KATAMARI DAMACY!!!

Those games are a celebration of life! They are very "Japanese", so it's not everyone's cup of tea. Since we seem to be on newer consoles though, I'd recommend Katamari Forever on the PS3.

Ps1 games can be played in ps2 or ps3. :D Hehe. But, you're right, it's not everyone's cup of tea.

The first 2 games of the series were released on PS2 , and only the earliest PS3s (like the ones in the US that had both the GS and the EE chip built in) play PS2 games perfectly. Although you still can play PS1 games on all PS3s, the latest ones have the PS2 functionality removed completely.

X360
Smackdown Vs. Raw 20xx - I for one, think the sports to be ridiculous. I don't watch it at all. I was kinda forced into trying the game by a friend. I've played his 2009 propably as much as he himself has. The damn thing was addictive as hell.

Well for me, anyway.

Force Unleashed - Playthrough gives you enough boost to make the parts that were not interesting on the first run, so much more interesting. I treat this like a sandbox game, since the levels are so obvious about where you need to go and what to do, you don't really need to concentrate on that. Instead you can just check the difficulty down and try to do cool stuff with the Force.

Just Cause 2 - Another sandbox thing that is just fun to fool around with. I've spent hours just wandering around doing nothing. And when you feel like it, total chaos is also an option.

Brà¼tal Legend - The story is cliché^2 and the Real Time Strategy parts are a pain, but luckily they are few and far between. Because even with the clichés the story is bad-ass, Jack Black as the main hero is one of the funniest things in the gaming history and the world is just filled with heavy metal references.

That's my own shopping list for whenever I get my finances stable enough to get the box. :D
