~ thanks to nobody ;-) ...

... I know understand why it is so important that the earth age is short cut at 6K years.

The whole belief-system and faith would fail if there had already been an ongoing existing nature, including dying, preceding and leading towards paradise. The literal meaning of the Genesis would become impossible or a lie or God debunked as incompetent.

This of course hits the questions you're asking.
Has Ian Juby created a great argument against Christianity from a modern scientific standpoint?
Has Juby just destroyed his own faith?
I would say yes (for this creationist-stream) and yes!

I also see why you didn't quote more of the whole stuff but I find this a delicatess as it's so challenging:
you need to ask yourself the question
"What do I believe? Am I willing to pay the price for what I believe?"
Every belief system has a price - a price if you are right, and a price if you are wrong.
No wonder why these creationists have such a desperate urge to 'disable' scientific knowledge and the methods of achieving it.

They have to sign up to a gigantic lie while suppressing elementary brain functions (observation and conclusion). Under this premiss they are bound to decay and decline.

Great GooglyMoogly if I may say. And yes I go with you to assume that this lesson is rather a threat to believers for giving up their faith.
But the technics of brainwashing and temptation know to deal with that.

Thanks again nobody for your company and guidance through this series :)

ps: my response to no 6 is still in stuck-mode, but not forgotten.
