It was more painful watching that thread grow to 48 pages.

That thread was my introduction to the forums as well. The trainwreck principle sucked me in and inspired me to join up with others who may suffer fools, but sure as hell don't do it gladly. Welcome aboard and be prepared for more fools begrudgingly suffered.

This place is hardly unique. Every place I've ever been, whether real or virtual, has its share of fools. When they pop up 'round these parts, the shit show is generally rather entertaining. I find it even more entertaining when the fool du jour is one of our own.

Don't worry about it, we've just been inundated with trolls/spammers who post in old topics recently with the sold purpose of spamming links etc. Once you've dealt with 30 in the past few days you start to get a bit jaded.

Sometimes it can be, especially when the intent is to keep the flame war of anger going... the whole point of locking is often to squelch the anger spewing forth, so intentionally (or even unintentionally) continuing that can be frowned upon.

OI! That wasn't me. My mistakes are far more egregious and blatantly stupid. Generally made so by my insistence that I never make mistakes. And my utter inability to recognize and/or appreciate irony.
