I thought peeps might be interested in this. This was our first pass at doing something of a podcast. Due to some issues in getting everybody connected (we did this via Skype - won't be doing that again), some of the planned participants are not featured. We plan to make this a regular thing, with guest speakers, and eventually some sort of phone-in.

Participating are myself, Jerome (the most rational theist I've ever come across), Natselrox (a man studying the genetic basis for various cancers), and Paul Almond (who has presented possibly the best demolition of the KCA I've ever come across). Music by yours truly (and yes, I know it isn't great, it's a quick sketch that is to be completed as time permits, and represents about 6 minutes work from conception to realisation).

It began as a discussion on the possibility of extraterrestrial life, and moved through many areas.

It was an interesting discussion. You guys definitely need an introduction of the topic and the people who will be talking. The intro was something like: 'I think we are going to talk about extra-terrestrial life today' and then you just launched into it.

I looked up Jerome's claim that William of Occam used his razor as evidence of god's existence as I knew William as a sceptic of most religious arguments - especially those of Aquinas. William of Occam was a fideist who thought that there could be no evidence or argument for god but believed anyway on faith alone.

Cheers, Aught. A lot of discussion has gone on since that recording, and much thought into breaking it down to clearer topics. It flowed quiite nicely, but it did tend to leap around a bit, and not much thought given to dealing with some very important and specific points.

Not bad for a first attempt, and we learned alot about doing it, not least that Skype may well not be up to the task (although the three of us that featured heavily had no troubles, and I wonder if it was simply the connection speeds of the others that were the problem). You are also correct that some introduction should be given to who is actually speaking at any given time.
