I have a refurbished ps2 bought maybe two years ago, and it works great. The only issues are that when sliding the disc tray out it rubs/makes a noise, and that one of my all time favorite games wont paly. The disc is in no particularly bad condition, in fact its in the top third of the best-kept games in my library. The console occasionally wont read certain cds, usually burnt ones (no red screen, it just says 'reading disc...' until I take it out), but whenever I put this game in (Ratched and Clank 2, btw) it goes red.
Im hoping its not the lens, because Ive been careful not to leave discs in unless Im playing, and I usually leave it in standby instead of turning it off.
One issue, though; I was moving the console across the floor one day and dropped it maybe an inch (dragging it more like, the one end was on the floor). The game that was inside it plays fine, and is in worse condition than r&c.
So I dunno. Should I just try getting another copy of the game, or am I looking at getting a new ps2 (or bwc ps3) down the road?
