On another note: Anybody notice the silence from Washington? I bet Obama prays that he never has to address this or even pretend to care about it. Oh gosh, how inconvenient this will be for him...

He might be asking the networks not to cover it. Recent issues with Google show that it's not only plausible, it's likely.

Is this info reliable? It may be on current, but it seems to come from info wars...you know...that Alex Jones place.

Edit: Yeah it seems to be just a blog page for info wars. Not sure why they have a blog on current, where Keith Olberman has continually pummeled their "inside job/NWO" conspiracies. Sorry, but I'm going to disregard this source.

But what do you mean you don't watch youtube vids? That statement almost seems impossible.
I just mean I don't like to watch them at work (where I am supposed to be working), and I don't have very good internet at home. It would have been more accurate to say I watch youtube videos very sparingly.

I was just now getting worried about what I wrote there. What a douche I'd be if you were in fact visually impaired. @ myself

You mean to tell me, that in this movement without central organization, some sympathetic person from another country made up a photo to greatly exaggerate the turnout, despite the generally modest reports from even the most sympathetic alternative media outlets?

These things are to be expected. There will always be those who take it too far. We already have Alex Jones trying to spin the details of it to suit his own views. This is why proper reporting is so important.

Pooka again:

BTW, I attended a meet up today. Expect us in Phoenix.

Also, it was quite a tense meeting at times. Imagine taking all ideologies from the slightly right of center to the outer most left and packing them into a room and telling them to agree on some things.... Socialists, liberals, Ron Paul fans/ so called libertarians with a strange propensity for socialist ideas (it still boggles me how people avoid that cognitive dissonance), and people who were completely disillusioned by all manner of hierarchical systems....I guess we can call them anarchists.

I wish there was a recording of it, but some people objected to being filmed. Not sure why...the idea is to get media attention at some point...

I very rarely pay any attention to YouTube, myself. :) Unless it is something I am especially interested in, or unless it is something like a television program relevant to topical interests that has been uploaded on YouTube, as I have done before.

I don't get the contemporary tendency to rely on YouTube soundbites to understand and relate to concepts. Makes me wonder about the Flynn Effect. I.e. : are we really getting smarter or just more broadly shallow from all this interaction with media? :|

Gah, how the hell did I miss all of this? I would have done my best to spread word about the event. And I disagree with Prolescum's self righteous rant. I mean geez, he's afraid that protesting could very much lead the movement to turning into another Tea Bagging Party so why bother, people are just idiots and embarrassing themselves? That kind of attitude is exactly the kind of thing that contributes to the problems we're having now.

+1

Also, for those who look down upon peaceful protests:

Why are you describing a disagreement as a "self-righteous rant"? I said one thing, he disagreed, I defended my position, he defended his.

Oh yes, I remember now, you're the "I had to log in just to tell you how dense you are" guy!

I remember after you posted that, you harassed me with lots of PMs because I said it was out of order publicly and you felt embarrassed. I recall that, without a trace of irony, you called me self-righteous then, too.

I suppose this response is self-righteous by your standards.

Didn't you say (after going out of your way to contact me privately) that you were putting me on your ignore list?

You do make me laugh, sweetheart.
I mean geez, he's afraid that protesting could very much lead the movement to turning into another Tea Bagging Party so why bother, people are just idiots and embarrassing themselves?

I didn't say I was afraid and I didn't call them idiots; televator mentioned the Tea Party, not me, my response was that they are not a group you would want to emulate.

So you're either attempting to make me look like an utter cunt (likely) or you just can't follow a written conversation (also likely). Either way, lol.
That kind of attitude is exactly the kind of thing that contributes to the problems we're having now.

Yep, your country is running out of money, power, and respect because some people aren't optimistic about a group of protesters.

I love you and your logic.

Don't send me any more PMs though.

Every video account of the Bridge Incident shows the cops leading and allowing the people across the bridge and suddenly roping them off and arresting hundreds.

The NYPD is busy making sure that various press outlets report only what they want.

At 6:59 NY Times reporter Colin Moynihan released a article on the arrest of protesters who police stated were obstructing traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge Today.
Over 500+ people were arrested. What is interesting in the edit done on this article and the person who did the edit.

Below is a screenshot of the article posted on the website at 6:59pm and at 7:19 it was edited by Al Baker. Seeing in the past weeks just how the police have handled the situation is it rather questionable that this gentleman would edit this article seeing as he is New York Times police bureau chief Al Baker.

As has been the problem with press coverage during this entire event, you'll need to use non-standard sources. My first suggestion is to look at the page as it is... if it hasn't been altered again.

Jesus! Really!? Nooo.....?!?!! Were those poor people really roped off....?

Wow! That really puts those pathetic 1960s Civil Rights marches into perspective, doesn't it. What were they whining about back then, just because they were being sprayed with water-cannon, and in some cases live rounds, they thought they had it tough. The pussies!

Martin Luther King never faced the trauma of being "roped off",....therefore he knew nothing!

Really? Could you please explain to me then how come I've been able to keep up with these protests via BBC's rolling news channel?

Obey the NWO!

hmmmmm..... Should they join the Labor party funded by unions and working class supporters rather than turning to the democrats and republicans who are funded by corporations. ?

Are you under the impression that the BBC is a standard media source in America? As for the rest, grow up. Herding people like cattle and then making mass arrests just isn't funny and your remarks aren't clever.

There's a real smoking gun. Who needs a ground up private security force when you can just highjack those government branches that desperately need the money because you keep lobbying and pushing legislation to cut social programs and safety nets. Corporate transfer of power comes full circle.
