Potential uses for Psychotherapy?

I think the word "psychotherapy" carries a slightly (or seriously) negative connotation. But then again, so does "ADD" and unfortunately, the effects of ADD aren't perceived very positively in our society.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me a starting point for my research on psychotherapy with special consideration for uses specific to ADD.

Note: I'm sure some members will rejoice in this thread, however I'm quite serious about the subject. Please try to keep this thread productive if possible...

You could start with a question. In fact, that would be the smartest way to start any research.

Refining your terms would help a bit, too. ADD in what population? Are you interested in talk therapy, drugs, or some mixture of the two?

Psychotherapy, unless I misunderstand the word, is "applied" psychology.
Psychology is "talk".
Do not confuse it with psychiatry, which is "talk" (required for a diagnosis) plus "drugs".

Yea you misunderstand the word. (Your nickname is hilarious by the way... if you keep it subtle (no 'kind regards, tenderfoot' at the end... we can see who posted it, so no need to add that. 'Regards' is fine though.) it even stays funny.)
