Mythical west coast creature, the Seawolf. essentially a chimera between a wolf and an orca.
P7110130.jpg

I found a number of different spider species, sadly i was not able to take any photos,
some where brilliantly colored and varied in shape considerably.

A small island i found on the far side of the lake.

There was Many different types of butterflies. many i could not take photos of
because they refused to land so i could take good macro shots.

I found a number of Snakes.
They resemble garter snakes but not like any i have previously seen.
prior to these encounters the garter snakes i seen were green and yellow.
these however, are Solid black with yellow stripes and Red hash marks.
They were also extremely cooperative with me during the photos, behaving more
curious then scared or nervous. maybe these ones seldom encounter humans?

TOAD!
I found this small toadlette standing on the battery casing of my sonar after moving it
off the boat. I have no idea how it got there or when.
was it on board the entire time? who knows.. If it was then it must have been sitting on the sonar screen
for hours durring my excursion to the Hazard buoy several kilometers to the east of the dock location.

Deeper into the lake, the water is Rich in phytoplankton.
P7080073.jpg

Here is a rich ecosystem consisting of many types of algaes and fishes.
again, somewhat obscured by the dense phytoplankton community.
Depth is around 15 feet.

Not to far from the weeds, lie a piece of scrap metal on the bottom over grown in a
species of filamentous and bubble algae, where i found this little guy.
I`m not sure what the species is.
It appears to be some form of sculpin but i`m not certain.
the placement of the eyes originally made me think it was some kind of goby but that couldn't be.

O, that's some beautiful pictures there. Work or vacation?

That's a huge amount of coverage.

I especially liked the totems; but then I was quite partial to the mountain-cloudscapes also. ^^

This picture is awesome... I love how you can see the surface tension supporting it but flexing under its weight.

Yeah they are interesting animals.

you should have seen the things i found near the Island in front of the lodge.
about 400 yards out shielding the bay from significant wind and wave action there is this
island.

i went there once with a cadis inner tube and found some very weird things.
namely, some pretty big whelk like freshwater snails and a lime colored porous structure encrusting a near by rock face,
i can only guess it was a freshwater sponge of some type.

Those are amazing photos.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that snake here by the reservoir. I almost stepped on it and it scared the bejeezes out of me.
