One Simple Principle

Totally crazy time:

http://www.onesimpleprinciple.com/l2

Unfortenately the guy behind this is mostly active in the science section of the forums of the local tabloid (http://portti.iltalehti.fi/keskustelu//forumdisplay.php?f=340), as he got banned from the more "serious" science forum of Tiede (Science) magazine, so it's mostly in finnish (If you can read the only language that matters, he's the tag IkuinenRakkaus) but for a few choise examples of nuttery:

* There is no gravity
* There are no attractive forces in the universe whatsoever (not only no gravity, but no strong nuclear force, no weak nuclear force, no attractive magnetic force)
* Everything is made up from "Eternal Stuff" (meaning everything from quarcks up, photons, atoma, you, the Moon, everything)
* ES pushing causes atoms to stick together, to molecyles to stick together etc.
* ES also pushes things, all things, and affects all things, but can't be detected by instruments
* ES counts for everything, and I mean everything, from Earthquakes to Planet orbits to nuclear reactions to redshift to... everything.
* Every object with mass is shooting ES according to it's mass (which doesn't exist really) so Black Holes give off HUGE amount of ES, so huge that the black hole in the centre of our galaxy can line up with the Sun, our local largest ES clump and cause... anything you can imagine from Blizzard to Earthquakes to global warming to problems with your cellphones
* Electrons are not real, just short time manifestations of ES pushing out from the atom
* Space doesn't expand, and space doesn't curve (he usually names these "gods")
* Illusion of gravity on you is a combination of ES pushing you down, and the Earth expanding
* Actually, everything is expanding, from quarcks up, in perfect ratio so that we can't detect it
* Single photons (made from ES) experience entropy and this causes them to age, redshift and the push other photons in front of them and billions of years old photons cause light to bend near the Sun because they push harder than the new photons coming from the Sun
* Math is stupid and unrealible so there is no point in trying to present even the most simple principle of OSP with equations

Yes, he's totally nuts. Not only his OSP is contrary to relativity but I'm not sure if there is any current theory in science that can exist if OSP was true. I have to admit that he has as strong of a shield against reality as any professional apologist, or maybe he's the most dedicated troll ever (after all his been at it for years). Reading his posts is great fun and I've actually learned science from the threads he's started. Not from him of course, but from the people totally demolishing his ideas.

A page that announces and refuses at the same time to give an introduction is already a full stop of reliability at this ONE POINT.

Thanks for sharing your recap as I could barely read through the sides SCREAMING.
But good to know that guy's been looked after and you're enjoying his mental effluxions [if that's appropriate to say]

the essential
can't be detected by instruments
I like ;-) ~ 'cos it's the most important part to secure any theory
energy which works as a spherical fishing net
anyway the wind blows ~ it sounds like a trap to me

May I share another ONE with you :)

Everything is actually held together by jam, invisible jam though, jam which cannot be detected by instruments.

Tell me more of this magic jam, and the toast of the universe upon which it is spread.

Greetings,

If it's indetectable, how did he become aware of it?

I'm not alltogether sure but I guess it was when he was adding oil to his lamp or carving wood in the great forests of central Finland. We have a tradition of citizenphilosophers living the simple life here. Apparently the truth that everything is made from this eternal stuff and that all forces are pushing and not pulling is "selfevident" and "so simple everyone should understand it". So basically he made it up and now is convinced he's right (or he's the most dedicated troll ever).

P.S. What's the difference between jam and marmelade?

Actually I posit that the universe is held together mainly by bullshit.

I know this because I have a bullshit detector.

Thanks for raising this question ... it got me curious ... and now I've found out that
the EU released a law some years ago and I now can't call marmelade marmelade anymore

Well, it depends whom you ask, as it varies across countries.
To me (in Germany) marmelade and jam always meant the same, granting to be a spread made out of whole fruits. But now marmelade is recuded to be only valid if it's made from citrus while jam still includes to be by any fruit.

I have no idea, it never crossed my reality ... I did a small research ...
Already by its look I would never regard it a marmelade but a cream or flummery.

It's a traditional english dessert and spread
??? So why do you ask me being in Britain yourself?

Well - it contains e.g. decayable organics (eggs) and not enough preservatives (Präservativ) to serve as long-time storage. To me this is already enough major difference for not to subsume Lemon Curd under 'marmelades' (if that is the group name).

Just because something contains citrus and sugar and can be pasted on a slice of bread doesn't automatically make it a marmelade, I would say.

sauce dip dressing ;-)

Greetings,

Yes, the EU have some strange food-related rulings - mainly due to France's farmers and their lobbying to retain subsidies.

For example, in order to avoid various tariffs and loss of subsidies, snails were declared "land-going fish".

Another one related to carrot jam - where, for similar reasons regarding tariffs - carrots were declared a fruit.

Kindest regards,

James

I love how fast this has gone off topic, and how its one of those topics where even the mods are like 'yeah fuck it'.

People should treat all unfounded conjecture with this level of disregard
