And if they ask "Who is Newton?" start a crash course on apples and gravity.

By throwing an apple at their face?

Wouldn't that be more of a course in ballistics?

Perhaps the apple hitting their face would remind them of Newton, perhaps not, either way I'd be laughing....

You could just go on top of a tall building and drop apples on the pedestrians below. If they ask tell them about newton.

Just a funny observation about Xmas in Florida:

It is 70-is degrees out, with a few puffy white clouds in the sky. It is perfectly wonderful shorts and T-shirts weather. So when I went out for the traditional Xmas Chinese take-out, I dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. Everyone else in town was wearing jeans and sweaters and hats and furry boots and jackets and all sorts of wintery attire. Everywhere I went, the heat was turned on in the buildings. It seems that Xmas in Florida just confuses people, so they act as though the weather is winter-like when it is more like what most people think of as early or mid autumn.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that redeems the misery of 104 degrees and 80% humidity in July is occasionally comfortable weather in the winter, and I'm going to take full advantage of it! :D

So 70 Fahrenheit is... 21-and-a-bit degrees Celsius?

Wow, I wish it was like that here... but on the other hand, we had a white christmas yesterday-the first one I've ever seen, so it's all good really.
Turkey wrapped in bacon with sausages wrapped in bacon, carrots, potatoes... :D Christmas Dinner is awesomeness incarnate.

Darn southern hemisphere and these summery Christmasses . . . why do we have different seasons anyway? ? ?

Heh. Florida is in the northern hemisphere. It's just close enough to the equator that the temperature stays fairly moderate in winter. And I'm lovin' it, too.

I know you're used to it but man...Christmas with no snow? Winter with no snow?

Though, the winters have been so damn mild (some statistic I read says the average winter temperature in Canada has been rising since 1948, when they started recording). Damn global warming, it's ruining my GTing, and the pretty snow-covered trees, and frolicking in the snow, and snow-angels, and making large piles to jump into, and all that good stuff.

For the same reason the Northern Hemisphere has winter, but reversed :p

This is interesting. Is there a religion that tries to explain why half of the world has different seasons? :)

Religions were created in specific places limited in area, so they probably didn't know such things as different seasons in different places can occur.

A myth trying to account for this difference in season might be quite interesting. I wonder what people, who didn't have a clue about earth and solar system, could come up with :)

Perhaps the bumhug is the source of your ills.

For the first time, ever, I think Christmas has put me in a foul mood... Oh well, at least the festivities don't include an obligation to test gravity. ;)

Hope you're better soon...

I got a Dr. Who t-shirt for Christmas, though...
