I've seen the quote sourced to a 1993 interview with a columnist named Molly Ivins, however i have been unable to verify that past there

Apparently I can't find a reliable source, but the quote is repeated ditto all over the Internet, stating that Pat said it during an interview with Molly Ivins in 1993. However I can't confirm that Molly Ivins even had an interview with Pat. All I could determine is that Molly didn't like Pat very much as evidenced here. Anyway there are quite a lot of other Pat Robertson controversies.

Yah there are. It just seems to me like it's too over the top, even for him; and as unlikable as he is, I'd really rather know he actually said the bad thing, otherwise it could be some meanie making stuff up just because it kinda sounds like him.

You wouldn't think that if you had ever read one of his books. I had the misfortune of doing so, and he really does say ugly things like that.
