GONE TOO SOON...

BORN TO AMUSE... TO INSPIRE TO DELIGHT>>>

HERE ONE DAY. GONE ONE NIGHT......

I can't help but feel relieved that the long suffering of a human being has come to a close, but I long to make sense of the talent that had the potential to heal and was squandered as a man became lost beyond ever being found.

There's something inexplicably unreal about Michael Jackson. Upon mention of his name, some people's face just lights up like a christmas tree, some people tense up and feel animosity... but such a talent doesn't come along very often and in lieu of overall musicality, I believe he should be honored as a musician, first and foremost as his talents were best served to humanity.

It's just a sad end to it all.

Kinda had to. Can't say I feel any more for him than anyone else. I find him quite overrated to be honest...

Touching.

I can't necessarily disagree with you though. There is weird and then there is bat-shit insane. And then there is jacko.

To be perfectly honest, Michael touched me... good touch. His music was simple and pure and his voice was like that of an angel... (if angels existed)

As far as talent goes, Michael, in his prime was not overrated. He was one of the few people that lived up to the hype, imo. Electrifying, a voice that spoke straight to the heart. Farrah Fawcett may have also died today, but people are going to be talking this up based upon the mystique.

Tens of millions of pop lovers masturbating endlessly. A career and a life full of promise leading up to a great point... building, building, building. and then it all fizzles out. No orgasm.

What a pity.

I hate to say it... I wish this had happened 15 years ago. Even though I am not and have never been a huge fan, Michael Jackson was a genius in his chosen genre. As a person, he was a victim of his family troubles, and seemed to be willing to victimize others. From a musical standpoint, he was able to reach levels that none of us can even imagine.

The shame, I guess, is that he never had time to wise up and redeem himself. As much as I liked to make fun of him, some part of me was hoping he would get his shit together and do one more brilliant thing.

I just heard about this, it's quite sad he was obviously a beloved entertainer. However, he has been having a lot of problems recently - it's almost a kindness to see him pass.

Michael Jackson was arguably the most important entertainer of the 20th Century. Up there with Elvis Presley and The Beatles, certainly. He will be missed tremendously, no matter his accused crimes or eccentricies.

Love him or hate him as a person (especially in the latter part of his life), nobody can deny that he was one of the most influential entertainers of our time.

His music lives on .

I think he was intending to get back in shape so that he could do a world tour next year. That would have been quite a redemption imo. It's a shame he didn't get a chance to try.

Time for Tommy K to start working on a tribute album.

Keep dreaming Mike.

As I said on Twitter, MJ died a long time ago for me. Great musician and performer back in the day. RIP.

I have a similar feeling. My mourning already took place about 15 years ago, when it was clear that his days as an artist were over. I belong to the MTV-generation (for the young people here, MTV actually played music videos in their heyday), and Jackson will forever be part of my youth. It's sad how his life took a tragic turn after that, and I always feared it would end like this. Fitting for an icon, someone who didn't want to grow up. With him dies the era when people could become larger-than-life legends, something that's become impossible in the fragmented, faceless entertainment industry of today.

Maybe it's for the best. I was afraid it would turn into a huge disappointment. This way, the legend stays intact.

It's been a strange day. Yesterday, a much-loved singer and tv-personality in my country took her own life, only 37 years old. And a few hours later, MJ dies. The world feels emptier today...

I was never a fan of MJ and found him to be a creep. I cant really say I feel much for his death. I hope this wont drag on for weeks i the media.
