Making the show available as a downloadable mp3

I am surprised noone seems to have asked for the show to be made available as an mp3 file which can be downloaded and listened to later. I love to listen to The Atheist Experience on my ipod, and I would love it if LoR was available in the same way. Is there any reason why it is not? I am surprised noone elese seems to have mentioned this. Is there an archive kept somewhere which I have missed?

thanks,

I believe this is being looked into, but as yet the show is not available in mp3 format.

Ah, the FAQ - thanks. I just noticed there is a difference between the show faq and the forum faq. Duh!

Are you sure you're not being a bit too perfectionistic about the potential for podcasting? Sure there are some great podcasts out there with very high production values (the Geologic and Amateur Scientist podcasts come to mind as they are always superb) but surely it would be too much trouble to consistently maintain that level within the chaos of a phone-in show. Certain episodes of the Atheist Experience have been really ropey but they are always entertaining.

Besides which, with the show going out live that just means we all have to sit down and listen at a certain time and day just to hear all the same problems and glitches that you are so concerned about.

Just a thought.

I love the show BTW, I will be listening in one way or other whatever format it goes out in.

AW, do you have Audacity? If so, a way to clean up the audio (as the faq talks about cleanness of audio as the main reason not to put up a podcast) would be to open the recording of the show in that, then go through relatively quickly and remove any instances of pausing or stopping.
Apart from that, you could take advantage of the fact that you probably have quite a few minions around who would be happy to go through it cleaning it up... Myself, for instance. Since I am frequently unable to listen to the entire show live for various reasons, I would gladly listen to it and just snip out the unnecessary pauses and other bits that contribute nothing (like dprjones apologising for the pausing, which would no longer exist and so would not be needed in the podcast) as I go along. Just as long as people wouldn't mind a lag of one day between the live show and a podcast. By all means contact me in some form if this seems a good idea.
