The turret kept turning. Through the glass of his scope, Don would shudder for a moment as he eventually turned to gazing down the barrel of a Panzer tank. It was the longest 2 seconds of his life as he saw the side of the barrel keep moving -
Don didn't know exactly what was going on on the otherside of the building, but it's not about to get any more lovely.

He could see one of the men hop over the stone wall, making his body to shoot largely out of view in terms of his position... The rest of attention was diverted towards the side of the building that Don could not see. But, he saw one man behind the tank dash out quickly, reaching down with both arms to drag Don's initial victim towards the tank.
Heroes on all sides, it would seem.

From the dashing corner of his scope, he saw Kelso quickly make to engage the man behind the wall in Hand-to-Hand combat, them both trading blows quite evenly. Left hook, right hook, elbow.
It looked like an even match from Don's broad view of the field.

On the other side of the house, however, the story was not so serene as it may have looked in Don's scope. The Machine Gun on the side of the patrol car began to light up, threatening to damage a few men. But Halden, oh Halden was back to doing his own little thing again. Fucking individual.
He yanked a grenade out, pulling out the pin. From the back of the group, someone could have probably heard him make a remark about Cricket and counting to himself quietly.

Luke's eyes couldn't see any weak spots to be sure:
But his mind leaked back to the Yank's story earlier in the plane.
If rolling his eyes wouldn't have caused him to lose focus, he probably would have at that very moment - if he hadn't tossed away his explosives, they would have probably come in handy right about now.
Wait, didn't he tell Kelso to rig up two explosives? Where the hell was the other one? Was it still on the street somewhere?

You can only do so many things at once - and that turret is turning this way.
[ShowMore=Don's Target Options]
Difficulty +1 for shooting the man pulling the other German over due to cover. +2 for the guy he's dragging.
Difficulty +2 for shooting the man brawling with Kelso.
No other soft targets available to fire at, unless you can develop a better target to shoot at.

Be sure to take the turn to declare who you're shooting at before firing.
[/ShowMore]

[ShowMore=Luke's Current Options]
1) Stuff a grenade down the tank torret.
2) Grab the explosives from next to the road, pushing himelf into a good bit of danger since he's sweeping towards the turret's rotation.
3) Get on top and try to muscle open the top. Athletics + Strength

Luke is currently aware of Gunfire behind him, the fact that there may be enemies on the other side of the tank, and the very real fact that the tank is turning towards the unit.

If you have any other ideas, you can try them.[/ShowMore]

There was the hatch - at the top of the behemoth that was slowly turning his way. That was his target, and the only way to get a shot into the tank he could see. Jumping up top would make him real visible in a hurry - but good old Don could make everyone keep their heads down just long enough. He swapped his rifle into his left hand and bounded up the tank.

Luke managed to time it perfectly, swinging open the hatch with the same grab he pulled himself up. His other arm swung around, stuffing the rifle into the open hatch for a point-blank burst at the surprised tankers.
[showmore=Point Blank Shot 3 successes]2011-11-17 15:43:47 ArthurWilborn rolls 6 dice to dex + firearms (offhand) (Diff 8) 9,3,10,2,9, 3 (3 successes)[/showmore]

[showmore=OOC]I figured Dex was the better stat here since it's a point blank shot. The difficulty is in getting the gun moved to the right spot, not in seeing the target. This can be delayed if needed.[/showmore]

Don let out a tense breath as attention was drawn away from his position. He weighed his the choice of his next target, watching for a moment as Kelso went hand to hand - who the hell goes hand to hand when you have a gun right there? Well, looks like he's handling himself well, that poor kraut already drew the short straw, and the last thing we want is injury from friendly fire, best not to shoot at him in such close quarters. He lined up his shot on the man dragging his first target towards the cover of the tank.

"Who are you? What are you doing out here?!"
It was a weird sensation, having the barrel of a gun set against the back of his neck. In a fraction of a second a lot went through Liam's mind. How he'd be lucky to get out of this alive, how it was strangely exciting to be stuck in this situation, how he would fail his superiors...
[showmore=Maintaining Self-control 2 successes]2011-11-20 08:31:55 Noth rolls 4 dice to Self-control 6,9,1,10 (2 successes)[/showmore]
... and how well he spoke German. In the next fraction of a second he sighed deeply and made as if to relax.

With a Bayern Mà¼nchen twang, one he adopted from his mother, he carefully chose his words. All was said in as fluent German as he could manage.

"Hà¶ren Sie mir zu Soldat!"
"Listen well soldier! " Liam began, adopting the manner of speech an SS officer could show. "Right now you are in the process of endangering a carefully planned SS operation designed to get a mole into the Allied ranks. You will be satisfied with this information, turn around and make way back to your platoon. If anyone there asks you what you saw, you will report that it was your nerves that got the better of you. Do I make myself perfectly clear?!"
"Ist das klar?!"

There was a break in the air, as if something was terribly amiss for Liam...
And then the man behind him began laughing - without lowering his weapon.

"Oh, really?" the voice said in German very clearly. "Now tell me - if that was true, then why don't you turn around here and tell me why one of the lead SS officials in the area doesn't remember anything of the like."
He nudged him in the back of the neck.
"Come on now, give a slow turn around."

... Well, shit. Noth, you don't even need to roll for this one - Liam was being held by an SS Officer.

=======================

There was screaming, and then there was silence. In the heat of the moment, Luke's mind was blazing with the feeling of a barrel pressing against his shoulder and the flash of a barrel - even after they were clearly dead, there was the TING of a bouncing set of bullets in the solid steel beast.
In a pause that felt like forever, it was cut short by the image out of Luke's eye - a man had shot up with a pistol aimed at him.
[showmore=Don]Difficulty to kill now normal.[/showmore]

This time he didn't shy away. As he fell into the pulse of combat he lost sense the world around him. His world was his gun and the target on the other side of the scope. He barely noticed the impact of the gun as he fired.

Down. The crack of the rifle firing brought him to himself only long enough for him to assess his next target and take aim. Don settled in on the back-and-forth between Kelso and his man, searching for a clean shot.

Luke tossed himself off the top of the tank, putting the bulk of it between himself and the surprising gunman. Damn - well, mama Wilson's son had just stopped a tank more-or-less by his lonesome, someone else could take this one.

"One round the tank!" He shouted and signaled to the men he had asked to follow him. "Get 'em and clean up this end!" He waved them on vigorously. He peered toward the rest of the battle, but sweat from the mad charge got to him and blinded him for a moment.

It was like a fluid and beautiful sonnet of Death that Don was viewing in the third person. He struck the German in the neck, an almost confirmed kill. The impact caused the hand to squeeze on reflex, pulling the trigger...
Which nipped by Luke himself as he dove behind the tank.

Don: 2
Germany: 0

From the corner of his scope, Don would find himself wandering over to Kelso's plight to see the motions to come. A strong haymaker to the face, Kelso had knocked his enemy combatant into a daze... Grasping his enemy by the coat, Don couldn't see what happened for a quick moment, but the next thing he could tell was that Kelso had yanked some kind of string off the soldier's uniform with a metal spot on the end.

================

Luke couldn't tell shit from his position. His brain rattled with the being fired at and the whole course of events.
What a fucking was to spend a morning, huh?

But before long he could see a BANG anf an overturned Car. Halden and the rest of the men looked like they were wrapping things up over there, and the rest of his men were up at the tank with Luke.

arg-fallbackName="ArthurWilborn"/>
Well, there she was. He gave the boys another moment to sweep around the tank, then climbed back up on the dead tank and sat on the hatch. Maybe one of them was still alive in there - could be - but it was doubtful he'd be able to dig himself out from under the bodies any time soon.

Damn sun - Luke turned to look into the field. Now... what the hell was that idiot Kelso doing rolling around with some soldier like a dog with a deer's head? Damn it... Luke shouldered his rifle and readied to shoot someone... whoever he saw that happened to offend him.

[showmore=OOC]Now that Thanksgiving is over.[/showmore]

Don kept watch on Kelso, cursing under his breath for not being able to get a clean shot in. It looked like the man would be alright, at least. He cringed at the beating the poor kraut was receiving. He was starting to come back to himself. He took a look without the scope, closing the eye peering in and then opening the other, to get an overall view of the field. The tank was busted, he smirked slightly seeing Luke sit atop it. Well, if Luke is safe enough to sit in plain view, the rest of the troops behind the house and tank must be alright. When had the battle gone down? He lowered the rifle slightly and took a look around his immediate area.

Don scanned the fields and downroad through his scope, to be sure no one was creeping up their ass.
