Well today at work I was thinking about the draw mohammad day and how everyone responded to it and supported it all over the web, it was quite interesting and so an idea hit me, what if we came up with the International day of mythology?
After all anyone living in a country that has freedom of speech should be protected to celebrate this day and show the rest of the world how ridiculous these beliefs are, we can all dress up as our favorite gods or mythical creatures, have little competition games to see with one is the best , i don't know, arrange creative activities for it, for example have a fight play between Thor and Zeus to decide for the title "god of thunder 20xx" , have Jesus and prophet mohammed shout "Twin powers UNITE" and have then protect the planet earth from the fearsome overlord ruler XENU and repel the evil thetans (or whatever those crazy scientology guys tell us we have) , do an interview with God aka Jeovah aka Yahweh aka Allah and ask him the real value of Pi, a royal rumble between the Devil and Anubis and Hades and Darth Vader (remember the church of Jedi in USA??) for "title of evil-ness of 20xx) , a bikini contest for Athena, Aphrodite, Medusa, Nymphs and Isis.
ya know come up with silly stuff to have fun with, after all the only reason i can think of that greek , mayan and egyptian religion is called mythology and christian and islamic religion is not is because you won't find a worshiper of Ra or Odin or Quetzalcoatl or Apollo anymore.
I was thinking of making a video for youtube but....i'm shy on camera
mm so many tempting dates for this, may 13 where they have that celebration of lady of fatima in my home country Portugal, maybe somewhere in september when it is school time so high school , college and university students can expose this stuff well, perhaps during Halloween time which is more convenient to dress up in a costume, mm not to sure.
So what do you guys think?
