Man there are some names. Haha yea I still lurk here from time to time. Kind of surprised me when I saw my name reading through here, I didn't think I left much of an impression outside of IRC.
I miss hanging out with everyone. When I was on all the time I worked 3rd shift in a call center with low volume and really lax internet rules. I could chill in IRC all night, talk to people, do homework on my laptop. But the pay was shit and I never moved up. Left there in 2012 and landed a programming gig for a year. Did that until my entire team was laid off, but had an ok severance package considering I'd only been there a year. Took that time to find a real programming job and I've been working as a developer since. I love it, just got a promotion and nearly 10% raise last month, just moved into a new house about 10 minutes from the office.
Also working on getting healthier. 3rd Shift for 5 years fucked me up - and FSA warned me about it too. He said it would, and he was right. I got faaaat as fuck. I'm down 180lbs since I started working on fixing it. Been on several camping trips lately. Played out a couple times with my band before our guitarist moved to Utah, so now we're working on finding someone to fit a different style - more punk.
I've been learning Russian like I always said I wanted to. I don't know if I talked about it much here...but I want to go to Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod in a couple years. Things are surprisingly good for me. But of course, there's always more that I want.
What happened to FSA? There was an accident and he's in full traction?
That sucks ass. Anyone in touch with him? I'd love to send him a note to let him know I'm thinking of him and wish him the best.
