I'm Banned Due to Chat Misunderstanding?

I'm not sure exactly what the situation is because I cannot communicate with anybody but I have been banned from the chat room and I believe it is because of a complete and total misunderstanding.

The irony is, I actually got banned by Andromedaswake while attempting to make the coolest League of Reason promo video the world has ever seen. I have actually made several promo videos totaling thousands of views because I love this site and the people who run it.

That is why I'm so perplexed at being banned without one single word of warning or communication whatsoever. I have always followed all the rules and complied with whatever CosmicSpork or any of the other mods have asked of me.

When it happened however, I was under a different nick, in fact all of us were in a coordinated effort to make the video so perhaps there was some confusion involved in my getting banned.

What happened was all of us decided to switch to fundie character names (something we do for fun all the time) and then set up a convo between all of us that I could get screenshots of. So it would look like screenshots of raycomfort, kenthovind and the like storming the league of reason and assaulting Atheists with clearly flawed and ridiculous logic. The thing is, we were saying some pretty outlandish stuff but I'm not even sure what I was saying that warranted and instant no warning ban.


We were right in the middle of the satire fundie conversation, pretty much every single one of us under alternate fundie account names when all of a sudden Andromedaswake entered the room, typed "what the hell" and banned me.


I enjoy my conversations with AndromedasWake very much and know him to be a reasonable guy. That is why I'm thinking there had to be some kind of misunderstanding taking place for him to just ban me instead of saying "hey stop pretending to be a fundie" or "don't use as many curse words" or just "shut the hell up" or any number of commands, all of you guys know I would of complied immediately. I mean were all doing something we literally do on like a daily basis and have never seen anyone express any concern over.

As I stated earlier I've actually put time and energy into making and featuring videos promoting the League of Reason and while I do not believe that means I deserve some kind of special treatment I think it should at least be evidence that I am not just some troll trying to cause trouble on the site. And if anything I would at least like an explanation as to what exactly I did that was so bad that it warranted a no warning ban and what I have to do to get the ban lifted.

What video? You mean the one we were working on? Dude you don't understand, the nature of the video is straight forward humour. There is no dishonesty or deception in the video whatsoever. Even besides the fact that no person would ever believe that we rounded up Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, Kent Hovind (who is in jail by the way) and the freaking Pope and got them all to come star in our video, the way the video will be edited and presented will in no way convince anyone that a real event is taking place.

And besides wish granted, I've never even heard of you and therefor was never planning on associating you with the video.

Sorry I got worked up on your other promo. I will not mention it here, because I do not want to spoil the fun. Anyway I thought you ban was over that last promo video, and told the mods eveything was cool. I was thinking on making a you tube video calling it out, but I decided not too, I did not want to ruin the fun. I hope I do not get in trouble for saying this, but if LOR is going to turn into a place were people are banned for no reason, free speech is limited, then I will have no problem just spending my online hours in Chess chat rooms and News forums. If AW reads this, you got to remember, OG and Clotifoth were not breaking forum rules, and if we are caught doing something, dont we get a warning. I think AW should of issued a warning. If he is going to be unreasonable with his site and make us fear "The Ban Hammer" with no warning, just because we offended him, then maybe LOR is just becoming another youtube. If the site keeps banning people without looking into it or banning for respectable free speech, then maybe someone should call it out on youtube, because league of reason gets mad when youtube or other sites do things like this, so like manner it should not do the same or eventually it will lose out when other freethinkling forum sites start competing. I love LOR and want it to be around for a long time, but I think I had to write this letter of constructive criisizem because I want to be honest to the Admin. I love on the best website in the world. So please do not take this letter in a bad way if any mods read it, I am just saying this to defend OG and Clotifoth, my two good comrades, and because I love League of reason.

On the flipside, if LoR degenerates into anarchy that's also a problem. There's a difficult balance there.
