If we had the power of the gods should we act like them?

Lets say that in the future our technology evolves so much that we can emulate the powers of the different gods in different religion sort of creating a new universe there,´s nothing they can do that we can,´t.

Create life from scratch been there done that, transform dead planets into living worlds what you joking i,´ve done that like 5 times this week alone, create an entirely new planet and ignite a sparkling new sun sure no problem what color do you want it in.

Lets say that all and much more is something we in the future can do as easily as we today switch on a light switch.

Now since we now have the powers of the gods should we start to act like them? Create life only to destroy it at our own leisure and so forth.

Or how should we act?

Remember we now have the powers of what most primitive civilizations would call gods literally anything they can imagine we can do.

Just the same as I usually do. I'd probably create this reality just for the purpose of enjoying a smoke, coffee, and music.

Once you get done stealing copyrighted material, what else would you do with god-like power?

Hmmm... I'd probably make everyone good looking and pleasing to my eyes. Mwahahaha!!!

I'll make a world, which is ideal. Everyone is perfect.

I'll make an alternative world, which is similar to our own. Everyone is different.

I'll observe both worlds at the same time and compare notes.

Noting on how I played Black & White, I think I'd be really cruel whilst attempting to be good only to find it terribly boring.

Kinda like the world as it is, but I'd mess with people more.

I think I'll make humans different in a way that some can recognize me and my miracles and others can't. It'll be entertaining to see their beliefs clash.

Yes, I'm inclined to agree that godism is probably boring. I think it's kinda like playing with G.I. Joe or Barbie as and adult. It just doesn't... work..:.)

It doesn't, but hey, if you're god, what else is left to do? You are all powerful, all knowing, and everywhere. Considering that definition, I guess such a god will be trapped in one point. A continued looping existence. It reminds me of a scene in a movie, where a certain character is in stasis.

This probably explains why god went on vacation. ;)

Because I'm bored, even if assuming I'm god, I'll create immortals to accompany me. Of course, they wouldn't know they are until they realize they never die. It will be random of course, not everyone will become immortal. My reality, my rules. Weee.

I think one of the coolest things about being a programmer is that I do have this power and I do use it, and I do act like it!

I'd probably add magic to reality. In doing so, people can summon angels and demons. Of course there will be equitable exchange in so doing the summoning.

The Olympian gods were a fun bunch. Messing around with people, defeating a few Titans, bedevilling each other more than in a soap opera, and, in the case of Zeus, mounting everything that wears a skirt.

True. In my case, I'd probably enjoy viewing stories like the epic of gilgamesh. It's an interesting story. In contrast to the bible, it actually makes more sense. Hehe.

living as a human with super powers- like a super saiyan, then conquering the world with your minions.

If I had the power of God, words like "should" and "ought" would cease to have meaning to me.

I would do as I please.

Advanced human - find something to do, probably competitive.
God - feelings don't matter, no boredom, not pointless, kind of just there.

I'd rather not act like god, because if I did, I'd probably create atheists. Instead, I'll always make sure I can be seen, heard, felt, and available.

I would create the perfect human species. This would include not putting the toxic waste hazard next to the recreational facility as well as routing the liquid waste away from the slip and slide. That's what I call ID.
