Holy crow, its worth HOW much?

Hard luck tale of woe.

Parents Squawk were off on holiday a couple of years ago in the philipeens. Bit of an eye opener, people over there really have got fuck all (in the area they went to), but were all incredibly happy and friendly. Mi mum and dad were the perfect sort to go there, quite happy to muck in and help out where they could.

Anyways, one day some of the locals brought round some shells. Pretty things, set in a base of some kind, offered for sale for a couple of quid, basically nothing. Mum and Dad not really interested, but purchased a couple anyway partly to help out the locals.

Anyway, word must have then spread because someone brought round this "special" shell, very rare apparently. There's for ,£20 or similar. Can't remember the exact price. Parents declined it, a few quid for a couple of shells was one thing, but ,£20? Meh, too much. Apparently this shell was a good looking thing, but it's a shell, and they thought it might now be a case of exploit the foreigners.

3 weeks later and back in England, and some program is on the tv. One of those programs that find bargains, valuable things that people don't know they have. What do we see, but one of those shells. This particular shell was about 1/4 the size of the one my parents were offered. The asking price: ,£4000

Mi Dad sat there just about crying for 10 mins.

I have this...

It's a wages book from a Victorian musical instrument retailer, found stuffed in a roof with a rather massive collection of other wage books, receipts and similar in Ayr (Scotland). It's probably not worth anything, but it's quite cool regardless.

When I was younger, I collected comic books. Through diligence and perseverance I eventually came to own all X-Men except #s 1, 2, and 4, all Amazing Spiderman except the first three, all Defenders, nearly all Spectacular Spiderman, and a wide variety of others. Total spent was around $500, total worth was in the many tens of thousands. Then my aunt used the boxes to block wind and rain from a broken back door to the house and the collection was rapidly worth $0.

So... where can we find her tombstone? I mean, I presume you did commit a felony right?... right?! :!:

I have an unopened, mint-condition copy of Final Fantasy VII and Legend of Dragoon that I came across.

I also have a full set on Theosophy that should be worth some pretty pennies to someone.
