Highly vivid dreams

They're always fun, aren't they? So bizarre sometimes. They give me something to think about right after I wake up.

Try this:
For a yummy and healthy treat, take sesame seeds (I use raw hulled) and mix them with some honey. You can spread this stuff out on a tray or something and bake it to make little honey-sesame granola bars, or just eat the gooey mess right after mixing the honey and sesame (that's what I usually do).

If I eat this kind of thing just before bed, my dreams are in technicolor, 1080p-resolution and I can remember lots of detail like the appearance of background objects and scenery. The content of the dreams also seems different, they are wilder and more bizarre.

I took Chantix to help me quit smoking(it worked) and one of the side effects was really vivid dreams, and odd too. I actually liked that part of it.

Is it necessary to have highly vivid dreams? If yes, why? If no, why?

People do and want things that aren't necessary all the time. If necessity drives all your (not you specifically) actions I imagine you'd be a very stressful person to be around ;)

As for the topic, I'd rather not have vivid dreams as all my prior ones involved zombies and post-dormital sleep paralysis. Not a pleasant combination...

It's just for fun, really. Makes sleep more interesting than a simple cessation of consciousness.
