i don't really have anything to say,i'm not a scientist...i saw it,thought it looked cool so i figured i'd share it...unless it's already been shared,in which case...oh well.

Ugh...people thumbing up a science denier in vid about scientific discovery.

Personal note to the science community: Stop it with the god insinuations! I know it's only metaphorical, but the public at large will take it to mean you've found evidence that a god has direct involvement in the creation of the universe. I don't care anymore about how this gets funding if you call it one thing or another because it grabs headlines. There's something largely self destructive in the method of searching for facts about the universe while simultaneously misleading the general public. It's a sick twisted joke that this is what it's come to.

Blame the publishers. As the story goes, Leon Lederman wanted to call it 'that goddamn particle' in his book, but his editor wouldn't let him.
On a related note: Lederman once announced that his team had discovered a new particle, which he dubbed Upsilon. When more data was analysed, it turned out to be false alarm, and the science community changed the name to Oops-Leon...

Yeah, particle physicists are geeks.
