Somebody mentioned cake... any left? I'll be happy to pay for it though. Gluten free?

Short intro: 44 years old Norwegian geek, and slowly going bald.. <snif>. Working in IT security, two master's degrees, bookaholic and have an unhealthy amorous relationship with my new Kindle. Disgusted by dogma in general and religion in particular. Being an atheist in Norway is not nearly as interesting as other countries it seems, but we are now and then blessed with visits from Jehovah's witnesses.
What else... yes, I once had domestic rats.

Welcome aboard, balding Norwegian geek!

You say that it's not as interesting to be an atheist in Norway as in other countries. I'm assuming that means atheists don't get "bothered" much by theists, but isn't there still a fairly strong Christian presence in Norway?

The whole theist thing in Norway is very limited. Most "Christians", and not very many of those, are fair weather Christians - they label themselves as such because the other labels are unfamiliar. There are a few crackpots - they are very loud and shouts from as many outlets as possible so you are not sure if they are 5 or 500. But most probably they are 5, relatively speaking. When I was a kid, we had to treat the doors with anti-Jehovah's witnesses spray, but now years may pass between each visit. I had a couple who came regularly a few years ago, but they stopped coming - maybe because I laughed so hard in the wrong places.

Welcome...

Ah Yes, Jehovah witnesses, had an infestation of those, aparently they don't like it very much when you preach back at them about stuff in their own bibles. Praise Jebus for that.
