No information, no source, no nothing... you should know better, Doc.

*sigh*

I made the topic because of that man's face expression, no nothing? who needs a story, you have it right there. do I really need to spell it out for you?

Heh, fair enough, but you shouldn't be surprised of the reaction you're getting.

We're curious people here on the boards. Inquisitive and skeptical. :)

See, that simple piece of information would have helped already.

Assuming the picture was real (no source, can't say), I would infer from his facial expression that he is feeling contempt. I can't see too many indications for the simple emotions like fear, surprise, certainly not happiness... there is a bit of sadness and a fleeting bit of anger, hence my conclusion that it would have to be contempt.

For some odd reason though... he looks like a linesman in a football match (handegg sucks) and for some other reason, that pic looks shopped. That's why I asked for sources in the first place. Like.. the shirt on the guy on the right hand side of the smaller picture is different, so that can't be him. The shirt from the guy on the left hand side in that smaller picture is outside his pants, whereas the guy in the big picture has his pants pulled over the shirt, hence the football association, so it seems to me he's got nothing to do with the small picture guys.

I got to admit though, he's one good-looking man. Or was.

The picture does seam to be incogruent, and without a story behind it can be anything. Even if I take your word for it what would you expect me to see?

My first thought was that this was actually a line drawing rather than a photo. Without a story and a source I can't make judgement.

my grandmother of course, stare at right top corner for ten seconds.

you have actually convinced me Case, but we know what is the punishment for Atheism in Iran, so regardless if this photo is real, death penalty for one's worldview in something worth attention.

Actualy a good save there. There are many places in the world indeed where they rather have us hanged and recicled as a speed bump and it would be dishonest of me to tell you that such doesn't make me disconfortable. The world is made out of extreme contrast, when some civilization have traveled trough space others unfortunatly haven't evolved past the monkeying arround tribal fase. Hyperbolicly it an be seen as a caveman living in Central Park whos idea of top of the line technology is a stick and a stone while greating good morning to the people walking by in their autopiloted GPS controled flying roller skaters.

On the bright side in no time we will be able to take people in expeditions to observe the wild life of primitive humans much like we currently do with the lions in africa, and probably some fund raising to help preserve the Homoretardus from extinction.

@Doc.

The man in the picture is Payam Amini, who was hanged in public on September 29, 2002 accused of rape and abduction.
This has nothing to do with atheism. Please don't abuse such a picture to make a point, when you haven't done the research.

Thanks for that info cush. Really interesting actually: he and four others who were hanged were part of a gang called the Hunters of the Unveiled who would go and rape women (presumably ones who did not where the veil?) and rob them and count on their shame to keep them from reporting to the police...

"The judge of Tehran Judiciary stated that "according to the law, the details of the activities of this gang cannot be disclosed"¦ he denied the allegation that the victims of the gang were, in fact, prostitutes"¦ [and added:] fading of spiritual values, the type of make-up and inappropriate appearance of some women provokes some youth and hence brings about certain difficulties"¦ " Having to deny that the victims of rape were prostitutes seems like the saddest part of this story to me.

My point was that when @Doc makes false allegations it is damaging for the atheist/rational cause.

It's called a mistake, it happens. and it would be better for everybody to let this topic sink.

I'd appreciate if moderators closed this topic.

finding a random picture on the web and making up your own story is hardly a mistake. I call that a sham.

It was posted by my facebook friend, along with the story, and I've taken it as truth. It's not necessary to jump down people's throats and rant some nonsense following no other purpose but killing time.

Christ, calm down Cush. Doc has already acknowledged that it was a mistake. Doc did not mean to cause offence, so continuing to have a go at him is a pointless exercise.
