General Question

IS IT TOO FUCKING HARD TO EAT WITH YOUR FUCKING MOUTH CLOSED???

seriously, out of the four room mates that I've had in college, two of them, one literally currently, slaps their lips and tongues after every single fucking bite and purses their lips and just chomps away with nasty slurping sounds, completely unaware of anything around them.

JESUS CHRIST; are manners this fucking elusive in the fucking general public???

Yes, they are. This used to drive me crazy when I was younger, because my sister did it all the time at dinner. She did it sometimes just to annoy me. I eventually resorted to flicking pieces of food at her face when no one was looking.

It's possible they don't actually realise they are doing it or that it annoys you. Have you said anything to them?

I second that. It might be that easy.

Unfortunately some people are just raised trashy. Some will strive to improve, but only if you tell them what's unacceptable because they honestly don't know.

Well, it's one of those stupid parental failures where parents don't realise what they're doing to their kids.
I mean, I learned table manners before I went to Kindergarten.
And in our world today, manners matter.
It's not uncommon for somebody on a job interview for any qualified job to be invited for dinner. And the human resources department don't do so because they're nice people, but because they want to see exactly whether you have manners or not.
And such a simple, stupid thing might cost you a job.

We banished someone at my work to their own office because of this, the noise was so bad we would all put our headphones on as soon as he started eating, cranking up the volume just so the horrendous noise wouldn't make me want to bash his head in with my keyboard. He is quite 'posh' as well... My parents taught me from very early on to eat with my mouth closed, not just because you look like a sheep masticating otherwise but for the sake of others comfort. Common courtesy and all that.
