The final major meteor shower of 2012 is quickly approaching via a debris path that is thought to have been left by asteroid Paethon 3200. The peak night of the shower is usually the night of December 13 into the morning hours of December 14. Please check your local observation charts for further information.

Here is to clear skies for all........ :D

Some other potential targets for that night (for those that have a telescope or binoculars):

Jupiter
M31- Andromeda Galaxy
M42- Great Orion Nebula
Perseus Double Cluster
M45 - Pleiades Cluster

Perhaps a tad bit dramatic but cool nonetheless...... ;)

Yeah... I can't see shit, clouds are covering the whole sky.

That sucks. Are the clouds supposed to clear through the night? You should be able to catch them UP to dawn (the peak that is).

Very high altitude clouds (Cirrus) made observations less than pristine. It was not a good photography night (upper level winds and high clouds). Good meteor shower with two recognizable 'fire-balls'.
