I am a meglomanic of sorts...

So it isn't surprising that I am excited about this beauty...

I enjoyed Black and white...

and Black and white 2 as well...

Both of them were interesting experiances...

I hope this one is less focused on a deity and more on the elements of nature...

Because that is something you couldn't do in Black and white...

You weren't able to manipulate the topography of your world...

At least not to any substantial degree...

Don't get your hopes up, that is a tech demo from e3 2008 and the project has been mired in development hell.

This is what was put out in e3 2010

See the problem? Most of it is the same footage as the 2008 trailer.

This is the latest one I know of, and the only new thing we really see is a title screen, they're still being rather vague on the gameplay / objectives / system requirements.

Hmm, looks potentially awesome, but I suspect it would also be pretty disappointing.

I agree. This looks freaking terrific. If it doesn't stand up to the expectations that Ubisoft made us have, it's going to be a massive fail.

What do you mean?

Development hell is where great concepts go to die horrible, shameful deaths in obscurity.

Alas, they don't always die, that's why the American version of Akira, an action adventure adaptation of Paradise Lost, and a truly excremental sounding adaptation of Asimov's Foundation series are all in production/post-production at the moment.

And it's why the Hitchhiker's movie sucked haemorrhoidal arse.

The hitchhikers movie was actually the reason I read the novels, I just thought it was an awesome movie. Ofcourse then I found out that the books are much better.

The US live action version of Akira is looking to be a giant thrusting middle finger to anybody who actually understood Akira.

Paradise lost makes me sad, and Foundation makes me even more sad.

At least Game of Thrones is turning out well ^.^ So far.

Had a talk about this earlier.

The Hitchhiker's movie was good, imo - as long as you didn't hold it to the book. The screenplay was written by Adams, and kept to faithfully - the wonky bullshit would have been devoured and cheered if it had been put in the book or in a sequal to the trilogy.

It rang of Adams and was hilarious. It wasn't the same as the book, but I think it worked quite well for that.
