As far I understand there is a huge event happening now in Spain.

Although Camping was wrong in his end of the world event, a HUGE "CAMPING" event against Politicians in Spain corrupted politicians happened since the 15th!

On Monday, the Regional and general election will occur: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_local_elections,_2011
Since every time, such event happens, politicians promise the sky, and a huge buch of its stars, some people from Spain used a social network in order to make sure that politician REALLY represent the people and not themselves or the bankers!

They decided to camp around big cities in all Spain invited via facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/INDIGNADOS/150830908320393
As you can not read Spanish like me (and few selected member of this honourable site), I will translate the name of the webpage (since you can not translate shit from pictures):
Indignados=Outrage
The banner says:
"Protest on the Street! 15th May 2011 -Same as British dates-
We are not merchanside for politicians and bank CEO" (banquero=bankers or bank CEO,´s)

Write some comments pl...!

I am not Spaniard, but it is very common that political proselitism is forbidden 1 or 2 days before the elections.
However, people in the event do not represent any party... they are just pissed off to hear politician BS

Yes, they staged a wonderful protest, and as a result the conservatives won the vote.
I call that backfire.

But they showed that in a democracy, the government hast to bend ultimately to the will of the people. They didn't end the protests, because it would have meant sending the army against thier own people over a trivial issue
