The following was posted on facebook. I know it's flawed reasoning but for some reason my brain refuses to put my thoughts into words. I think it's the last bit that confuses me the most.
"Things that happen by chance do not owe their forthcoming to science, but probability. Just as some mathematical graphs approach zero but never reach it, how are we to understand the notions of probability when we cannot live long enough to sustain such an infinitely broad research. To understand these concepts we have to go beyond science, because for everything we are unable to control, we fail, and wherever we fail, science fails indefinitely."
That's the argument from ignorance fallacy, right? I can never remember these things.
