I have a very difficult time believing this is anything but satire.

Of course, I have been guilty of underestimating the levels of stupidity to which humans can attain.

Considering that there are still people who belive in a Geocentric universe and that it has ANYTHING to do with evolution, it wouldn't suprise me at all that there are people who belive in a flat earth. After all, we know how ignorant and stupid creationists can get, so this level isn't anything new.

More onto the topic, like all conspiracy theories, it's impossible to be proven wrong to any of those claiming the hypothosis (I refuse to call it a theory, as even some theories in the casual sense of the word are more tangeable than THIS!) just say that any evidence or claims to the conterery are fakes and that you are just "part of the conspiracy". If they claim footage from space and near space showing the curvature of the earth as well as the different seasons is all made up, you know it's worthless arguing with them unless your taking an easy time to debunk them to educated the vunrable minds! :roll:

Seriously. A single trip to the south pole would could completely confirm their hypothesis. What better way to show the powers that be, then to actually go to the edge and film it. who could deny it then? Geez even the hollow earthers are prepared to actually go the the south pole and look for the entrance to the inner world. They're going to come back empty handed but at least they're looking.

I'll come out with it. I'm pro-flat earth. However I would like to know how the round-earthers explain the manufacture of industrial flat glass, using the float process?

Let me draw your attention to page 5, Stage 5 Inspection.
"The float process is renowned for making perfectly flat, flaw-free glass"

If the earth is round, how do you make a perfectly flat flaw-free piece of glass using a "mirror-like surface of molten tin" , especially when "A float line can be nearly half a kilometre long.". Surely a round earth would put a curve in the glass and it would not be "Perfectly flat, flaw-free glass".

Look at the lengths these guys go to to get flat glass. 100 million inspection measurements a second! Surely they would work out all their glass curved? Unless the earth was flat of course.

Some quick maths ...
1 mile = 1.609344 km
Suppose that the earth is a sphere of radius 3963 miles as claimed. If you are at a point P on the earth's surface and move tangent to the surface a distance of 1 mile then you can form a right angled triangel as in the diagram. Using the theorem of Pythagoras a2 = 39632 + 12 = 15705370 and thus a = 3963.000126 miles. Thus your position is 3963.000126 - 3963 = 0.000126 miles above the surface of the earth. 0.000126 miles = 12*5280*0.000126 = 7.98 inches. Hence the earth's surface curves at approximately 8 inches per mile.

In summation, their glass would bend 3 inches over the half kilometre molten bath and not be "perfectly flat, flaw-less glass".
