Flat Earth Nonsense

arg-fallbackName="he_who_is_nobody"/>
You can't refute a flat earther, nor should you try. The only correct response to one is "prove it" and leave him to sputter. Their entire argument relies on their denial of any proof for the globe.

This tactic is a good one to use with an intelligent design creationist. I rarely use it, but when it is employed, it leaves the creationist exposing their argument as the god of the gaps ("The eye is too complex to come about on its own, someone must have made it"), or they revert to trying to disprove evolution. Creationists do not seem to understand that just because one disproves evolution does not mean they proved intelligent design creationism. Having a reality denier sputter is a good tactic and has hilarious results.

This method has served me well in the past. I managed to break my local Jehovah Witness cult with it. Each time they came to the door for a chat and to dispense one of their Awake publications, I would pull out the previous one (well covered in red ink) and point out the various inaccuracies and inconsistencies and have them try to explain them. After a few months of this, they stopped coming around.

I have never been lucky enough to live in an area with apologists that come to my door.
