FBI Demands Its Logo Be Removed From Wikipedia

Just an interesting article:

The FBI is hopping mad at Wikipedia! Apparently they've threatened Wikipedia with legal action if the online encyclopedia doesn't remove a picture of its official seal from the FBI entry at once. Wikipedia's lawyers, while squelching laughter, have replied "no."

The letter from Wikimedia to the FBI spokesperson can be read in entirety here.

Though you guys might be interested/amused.

I am amused. ^-^ Wikipedia is well-versed in statutory construction.

They are very well versed in fair use laws; indeed I had to construct some stuff that would prevent us from getting sued (or lead to a win in court), and I based much of it off the wikipedia guidelines.

That is sweet. Now I'm tempted to search such in wikipedia.

That is the most hilarous formal letter I've read so far. The way they write just makes one laugh... unless he's in the FBI of course.

And I learnt something new and valuable: "ejusdem generis"
