Very hard to choose, but it's probably a tie between The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Final Fantasy 4 for me, with The Secret of Mana very close behind.

A mixture between Rome:Total War, Sins Of a Solar Empire, Civilisation 4 and Medieval 2: Total War. It really depends on what I feellike doing.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I've had the game since spring of last year, and I'm still playing it.

Final Fantasy VII and VIII are my favorite RPGs of all time.

Fighting games? I was a HUGE fan of the Capcom fighting games, especially X-Men: Children of the Atom. Berserker Barrage!

I bought Rome: Total War... I don't understand it.

Action: Half-Life 2, everyone should get this game I think it's the best game ever made.
Strategy: Warcraft 3 including "The Frozen Throne"
Sport: Fifa 09, I've been playing this alot lately... Dont know why, I guess it's kind of fun to manage your team.
Fighting: I dont play that much fighting games but I guess I like the Tekken games.
RPG: Fable or World of Warcraft.
Adventure: Jak 3.

To many to really list all

I am more into MMOs like Warhammer, Eve, WOW, EverQuest 2, Lord of the Rings Online, Age of Conan
Non-MMO games, like Fallout 3, Star Wars Force Unleashed, GTA (all) and Madden line ups.

Halo. The sequels rest just don't compare.

Crash Bandicoot. The sequels aren't bad, but I prefer the first.

Lego Star Wars.

And Portal.

Audiosurf.

Day of Defeat: Source, which I haven't played for ages.

Loads of games, really.

Oh; Oblivion! But only with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, and other assorted mods. Otherwise Morrowind.

i don't get why everyone likes Portal i got it and thought is sucked could some one enlighten me as to what it is that they like so much

Because we were expecting innovative puzzles that changed the way we think about space. What we received was a game with memorable characters (even though there are really only 2), memorable moments, and fairly innovative puzzles, with a puzzle boss fight.

Because it is AWESOME!!

Do you feel enlightened yet? No? I don't know what to tell you. It is a simple puzzle game with an interesting physics thingy, and an awesome story.

What I consider to be my "favourite games" tend to change, but the following games will always have a special place in my mind:

Quest for Glory 1-4. Nobody ever talks about these games, most people don't seem to know them, nor have played them. Let me tell you, I played them as a kid. A lot. And back then it seemed like every wonderful thing in the world condensed into a series of computer games. I loved them. But I haven't played them in ages, and I have no idea where they ended up (probably a box somewhere). I miss the days of exploring deserts and jungles and forests in those games, killing stuff, doing quests, and of course all the humour. Miss them a lot.

Super Mario 64, I probably don't need to explain why. For it's time, that game was just incredible.
Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, loved them both.
Diddy Kong Racing, it was my favourite racing game for years.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert, plus the expansions.
Rise of Nations

The Sims. Remember using cheats so that you could move any object, even people? Well, I'd invite neighbours over, then trap them into a tiny room somewhere. Sometimes I would build an area surrounded by that stone spikey fence so it looked like some crude prison, then I would flip it on fast and watch them starve to death, or give them infuriatingly few things to work with, like just a fridge to live off and nothing else, so they can struggle in misery because they can't hop a fence. ;)

Fable
Runescape. "WHAAAT? Runescape?". Yes indeed, gotta be the last MMORPG where killing someone means you get their stuff, a thrill you get nowhere else. Though I haven't played in forever I did as a kid, and I thought it was pretty awesome back then.

I really liked WoW for about two years, until I realized what direction Blizzard was taking the game, then I unsubscribed and haven't played since.

Currently I'm playing Warhammer Online. The game has issues, but yet at the same time, I've had some of the best PvP experiences I've ever had in an MMORPG. If you can get past the hiccoughs, it's wicked.

Ok, that'll do for now.
