I don't know if this guy really is that thick, he seems pretty smart I can't say he is stupid but he seems not to get it that bible is in no freaking way a good basis for evidence and he has been warned and reminded here about that countless times and he still insists on it.

That is not how things are done here. You can be as dumb, vociferous, or outrageous as the rules allow. Gish galloping is the least of his crimes.

His argument may be a pile of wank (it is), he might post thousands of random bits of babble (he does), but to suggest this is a reason to "delete his accounts and posts" is, bluntly, offensive. You win with better arguments, greater evidence and fantastic turns of phrase, not by closing down your opposition's voice.

I agree with Nasher and Prolescum. In addition, there are other things that annoy me far more. Like using "u" instead of "you" for example. It's a sign of laziness.
Most people here believe very strongly in freedom of speech. I have been banned from creationist sites for such crimes as "posting scientific articles". That's never going to happen here, at least I hope that it won't. As Prole said, you may be "dumb, vociferous, or outrageous" or as I would call it "stupid", but that won't get you banned. Posting pornography, illegal material and the like however WILL get you banned.
Plus, I'm an educator, I get more crazy stuff than that every day in school. Last time I had an 18 year old girl (about to graduate) as me what "communism" is. Do I kick her out of school? No. I calmly explain what it is and why it's important to know that.

Indeed I don't think TruthisLife7 should have their account removed, they have not broken the rules to my knowledge.

To ban someone from this forum just because they like to make long winded posts about their religious views, would be no better than all those fundamentalist youtubers who disable, or remove dissenting comments from their videos.

Plus it's not all TruthisLife7's fault. If nobody responded to his posts then he probably would have shut up and left by now.

As some of the other members have pointed out, we don't do that kind of censorship here, so I'll not get into that topic here.

But beyond that, there is also the topic of activity. Sadly, we haven't had much of it in here lately, and getting a good argument going (even if it's against the kind of stuff TruthisLife7 comes up with) is to many better than nothing.

Plus, I'm convinced that some people in here are major mental masochists and actually enjoy sifting through myriads of creationist nonsense, debunking every last bit of information contained within.

You can't debate if the opposing half of the argument isn't allowed to partake. He may be as wrong as it is possible for a human being to be, but he has the right to express his opinions. No one is deleting anything, and no one is going to delete anything. He obeys the rules, therefore he is more than welcome here.

Faith, belief, doesn't deal with knowledge. More precisely, in the absence of sufficient knowledge we belief.

On top of that, a belief is an expression of a certain value. We belief what we unconsciously want to belief (without chosing). In the absence of knowledge our brain prefers to value a certain unknown truth, and It is accepted as truth. With a belief as fundamental as religious belief, one that is reinforced probably throughout life and where an entire community is build around, no amount of reminding or warning, or even lecturing and providing evidence, is going to change the way a believer values his treasured beliefs. The only way for religious belief to diminish is when the believer himself is open to change the way he values his perception of things.

Dotoree isn't a troll, or stupid. I get the idea he's sincere and that he gets a lot of good feelings from the way he percieves the world. Banning him and deleting his posts would be completely contrary to free speech and is disrespectful. It does not matter how wrong he is on certain topics.

The reason you don't see 687 messages a day about where to buy questionable Russian pharmaceuticals or over-priced shoes is because we mods stop that shit before it appears on the forum, so I'm pretty sure we know spam when we see it. Just read a bit of this forum...and have to ask...why not just use the same evidence to test for God as we do for anything else of significance, such as scientific evidence (direct, inferential and explanatory), historical evidence, logic, credible witnesses (and in this case you might add credible cases of supernatural power or knowledge)? All these and more are used to determine what is true throughout our civilization. Why suddenly ignore them when we come to We're talking about living forever here with adventure unlimited abilities to explore the universe. I mean think about it. Why be biased against life and opportunities like this?

If it was something that meant torture and suffering...well that might be more understandable...but both science and religion have produced progress of astounding value that ALL benefit from today..(both have been misused as well.). I just don't see the logic in using double standards and being so biased against something that has been so incredibly beneficial and an opportunity to live and explore things that will make all that scientists do now look like kindergarden child's play. It's like being biased against the scientific method or being biased and rejecting Bill Gates when he puts a $1000 dollar bill in your hand and says,
"If you take this $1000 and do an hour of work for me, I'll give you a million".
