Element 112....

..has been offcially recognized by IUPAC and will soon join the periodic table.
It is yet unnamed and it was first synthesized (by shooting charged zinc atoms into lead) in 1996 and then again in 2000 at the GSI in Darmstadt, Germany.
Only recently different research groups were able to replicate it and verify it, so it is now official.

These guys in Darmstadt are good!! Element 110 is named Darmstadtium just to give you an idea....
