I think it would be hilarious if we organized a day with other atheist and went out door to door with pamphlets and explained atheism to everyone.

Not really to preach but to dispel myths about atheism.

Easy. Just go door to door and say "I'm on a campaign to tell you everything about atheism" or something like that and then hand them a flyer with nothing on it.
Yes, the joke has been told before, but I do wonder if someone has ever put it into action.

It would probably be nicer to set up a table somewhere. If you don't like what the JWs and other churches do with the door-to-door, I doubt your victims would appreciate you any better.

If, on the other hand, I had the addresses of those creeps who used to come by my house on a monthly basis(and who sometimes sent their kids to knock on my door), I'd love to send a few hundred of you guys to knock on their doors. I had to threaten calling the police before they finally stopped.

We've had the JWs a few times, but I've kept missing them each time, which is a pity because I happen to have an "annotated" copy of their anti-evolution book from a family friend who is also a scientist with a few publications to his name(in chemistry, but nevertheless, they're a good source...).

I loved Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on my door in Alabama...
It was the easiest trolling in history when I invited them to sit down, in a foyer coated with Paganism stuffs. After a drink of coffee and a nice conversation, I can proudly say that the Jehovah's Witnesses never knocked on my door again.
