District 9, will there be sequel?

Personally I think there will, there were many ends left untied, questions like: 'what was the 'prawns' home planet like?' and 'why did they leave in the first place?'

My prediction is it will be called district 10, perhaps the 'prawns' will have developed a more stable social system as some more intelligent 'Prawns' like Christopher could emerge. this is pure speculation, nothing official...

Christopher will be back in 3 years.

More than likely, as the film seems to be doing pretty well in the cinema and has gathered a good following of fans who'll jump at the chance to see a 2nd movie. The ending really does leave it open for a sequel. Time will tell.

Exactly, it made good money, therefore there will be a sequel.

I just hope they don't make a rubbish one that kills the magic of the first. :?

a sequel was already planned prior to D9 pending it's success. I hope and expect there will be one in equal measure.

That's my main worry, sequels are usually worse than the originals.

mine too. I'm almost sure that second part won't be as good as the first one.

Sad but true however there are a few good sequels out there Terminator 2 and Aliens being some of them.

Hopefully not. There have been enough buddy cop movie sequals to accomodate the entire multiverse.

A sequel will not add anything to the story. That movie alone was the story period.
I don't think "Romeo and Julliet would gain anything with a sequel where they comeback to life and go live happy ever after in france". Some sequels are just not meant to be done, and very often a bad idea.

What about:

"Romeo and Juliet 2: The Zombie Holocaust Romance..."
