I would like to sugest a new forum section dedicated to cooperative project developement, tutorials and ressources on how to work with different tools. for instance Prolescum is starting a basic HTML tutorial, believe other people could have contributed with stuff like office, java, C++, photoshop, Autocad, MatLab and so on.
People can also trade in research material on other areas as well.

I second this.

We could give it a fun name like the 'League Crà¨che,' or the 'Leagueiversity.' May as well move my computer thread there as well.

Sounds pretty sweet. I'd be willing to do a long-winded GIMP tutorial...

/support this suggestion.
I would be willing to use Prolescum's long-winded GIMP tutorial.

Where do you think this would be best situated? I'm thinking maybe the technology/engineering forum, but to be fair those forums are for discussions really, it might be best under the general forum somewhere.

put it in pseudo science, the general topic or make a whole new section for random tutorials

First thought is it fits best in Everything Else -> Creativity or its own forum under "Everything Else".

I think it could as easily fall under the reason section as well as the general section. However it could justas well fall under it's own section and have sub-secions like computer science, mechanics to general engineering but I wouldn't want to excluded those (who do not go close to my area of expertise because this is my bias here and we need to compensate for that) who might want to have a more biology or sociology oriented projects (or a mixture of any of it).

I would sugest building a dedicated area under the name "Projects and technical ressources" with subsection properly idetifying that major areas (and thus avoiding the dificulties of having to split them later) and within each section have a main area for theory and a subsecion for aplications of those theories (where people can trade in their work costructed in that field).
Given the fogy issue on how to properly manage it, I would advise in the spirit of this initiative to start a probe topic so we can better study the issue and get an idea of the different sub-categories that would most satisfy the needs for something of this nature.
If you think that this is never going to develop as much as to justify having them split in different categories (as I fear it will), then only one section will not only be suficient but also apropriate. If we start aiming to small the section will be flooded, if we think to big the sections will be a desert.
Perhaps we can put a subsection of "Projects and technical ressources" under everything else (or Reason) and we see how it goes, if some area starts growing to big (like computer science might, because this is the internet and almost everyone has a computer skill) then we split them before it gets out of hand (and thus provide the necessary midle ground).

But something else that we will need is a more carefull and specialized moderation, it wouldn't be wise having people posting a million of losely bonded tutorials that might be inacurate and or lacking in content.

I will have to make a better judgement on this in order to further a better sugestion.

I've put it in Everything Else for now, if necessary it can be moved later.
