This is the debate discussion thread for: "Evidence Supports Creation as described in Genesis?"

The debate can be found here: http://www.leagueofreason.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=7188

As usual, the participants in the debate, Hytegia and ThePuppyTurtle may NOT participate in this thread.

Be nice and have fun!

Wouldn't it have been better to wait until the person has registered? Most of the times that I've wanted a debate with someone along these lines, they fail to show up as promised.

This. Judging by his YouTube vids this debate is going to either be very short or excruciatingly drawn out and repetitive.

Nice. I hope the two parties will be civil since it occassionally ends in logical fallacies. Till then, I'll wait with extreme anxiousness. :D

Well, it did register... So I guess it didn't fail to show up.

I dunno if I'll read it, but at least we can give them a non-censored place to talk it out without a 500 character limit (and is public, unlike youtube PMs).

Prediction: All "evidence" that will be presented by the Creationist will be "evidence" against Evolution and thus automatically for Creation...as always.

I just linked the debate thread to ThePuppyTurtle's YouTube page. He took the comment down almost as soon as I posted it. I think this means ThePuppyTurtle has withdrawn from the debate. Judging from some of his videos, this was his best option.

Wait... Hytegia is challenging a child whose balls haven't even dropped to a debate? Is this what that 'atheist community' on youtube has been reduced to?

Edit: Although I must admit, this kid's view that 'we don't know there were no hospitals or medicare before the flood' is effing hilarious.

I like his user name thepuppleturtle, it is cute. I do hope he doesn't withdraw from the debate since he will be depriving himself of understanding why there are others who have different views.

It would be nice to get an update on this "debate". Perhaps )O( Hytegia )O( can give us an update in the debate thread, or at least an opening statement. Until then, I think I will post some of ThePuppyTurtle's videos here so no one will be surprised with the arguments he will make (if the "debate" happens).

The last one is my favorite one.

That or all evidence presented that is supposed to go against evolution will actually support it.

"Look at the pattern of these ERVs they are evidence of a common designer not ancestor..."
"Check out this 'fishapod' evolution can't explain that..."

Not the strongest start by a creationist I've seen...

Re: Debate Discussion Thread for: "Evidence supports creatio

I smell a false dichotomy fallacy coming, he's not going to present any evidence for his claim, and instead try and attack evolution as if that alone would be enough to prove his assertions that genesis is correct.

I propose a pilgrimage to the altar of literacy be a requirement to post in a debate.

ID again. I'll judge not and see where this goes. Tolerate, tolerate, tolerate (mantra). :?

Does ID support creationism? Yes haha. ^-^ Atleast it's funny.

Somebody.....please.....show him this....

....and the colours.....so many colours....
For My Opening Statement I Will Present 3 Facts that Can Only Be Explained by An Intelligent Design.

Should be fun....
The Intangible yet Inarguable Value of life: What did you think When You Heard about the Japan Earthquake? Most Likely, "Those Poor People" or something along those lines. My Pet Lizard is sleeping in her Enclosure, She's Worth $50 and yet I would Rather Burn My Xbox then her. Why? The Xbox Has more Monetary value and I get more from it. It's because the Lizard has Life. We all recognize this value Those who don't are Locked up and Given Therapy. We Know There's value in life. Unless you're savethedogf00t, You will always Burn the Machine, Because of a Value that we're all aware of, And that no one can see.

Strong out of the gate with an appeal to emotion (and an ad hom; savethedogf00t? Has tf00t been hassling dogs now?), and if we disagree we obviously should be "given therapy" Y
The Irreducible Complexity of life: Wat Came first? The Eve? Or the Programing in the Brain That Processes Visual Information? These are Both useless without the Other. Only an Immediately Helpful Mutation Can Be Explained by Evolution.

DNA: DNA is Information as much as this text is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF1UzhPA5N8 Has Language http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2001/04/04/133634.htm Has Algorithms http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16423447 Ect.

5 seconds on Google answers any questions about the supposed 'irreducible complexity' of DNA. No excuse for ignorance.
Evolution Cannot Explain these facts, So Either a Supplementary theory must be Constructed, Of it Must be Thrown Out. I'd go further And posit that only intelligent Design can Explain these Facts.

That's because you're suffering from confirmation bias, Mr Puppy. Intelligent Design doesn't explain anything, it just states Godidit and stops trying. That's not an explanation so it is not a replacement for evolutionary theory. The fact that ToE has been experimentally and observationally proven beyond reasonable doubt doesn't change because you lack the ability to use a search engine or read wiki citations.

I tend to agree with you guys, false dichotomy on the horizon.

It is sometimes said that we are defined by the quality of our enemies.

I'm sorry Hytegia...
