This is Päivi Räsänen. She compares abortion to butchery. She thinks that in a conflicting situation, the Bible should take precedence over the law.

She is also the Finnish Interior Minister. And Richard Dawking just heard of her.

I'd just like to note that she's the head of the Christian Democratic party with 4.03% of the vote and 6 MPs (of 200) in the Finnish parlament, so it's a marginal political force. How did she get to be a minister? Fearing the surge of True Finns popularity (who went from 5 to 39 MPs in the last 2011 elections) PM elect Jyrki Katainen got 6 parties to the cabinet, of the 8 in parliament. So we have a "sixpack" cabinet and as everyone can imagine it's been an... interesting two years.

That's most of the politicians in the United States. It's absurd, in some states if a woman has a questionable miscarriage, the state will attempt to charge her with murder. If she's pregnant and attempts suicide, same thing.
