Remember this guy? He closed his old account and started a new one. He is giving lectures and writing a Ph.D thesis on ISIS for a doctorate in Sharia.

His first point is referring to atheism as a "rising problem."

Greetings,

Remove the "=" before the YT code and it'll work.

Kindest regards,

James

I found it pretty disturbing. He is calling for an "intellectual jihad" against atheism. He misrepresents us and regards atheists as a threat or a problem.

Greetings,

This might be interesting:

How This Clever Imam Has Kept Americans From Joining The Islamic State

As Eller pointed out, any member of a religion is an atheist with regard to all other religions - and even sects within their own religion. Is Dawah Films suggesting a fatwa/jihad against everyone else's religion?

Even worse, since Muslims are like American Protestants - every individual has his/her own interpretation of the bible - in that they don't have a central authority (such as the Vatican/Pope for Catholics), is he suggesting that he declares a fatwa/jihad against every Muslim other than himself?

Kindest regards,

James

Why on Earth would anyone want a doctorate on the commandments of a fictional being? But furthermore why would anyone make a thesis on ISIS? I mean whatever way you look at it any theological thesis on ISIS will very likely either condone them in some level or use the no-true-muslim fallacy.

Anyway he is, surprisingly, correct. Atheism is a rising problem for people like him. But not for humankind and society in general.

P.S. Where is he even studying? I remember something about him leaving the US for some religious schooling

I think that, in the spirit of fairness, it is worth pointing out that he did make a point of arguing that "jihad of the tongue", as he put it, is always above "jihad of the hand" - and clarifying that arguments and discussion is the prescribed way to do jihad.

Now, we are all familiar with the non-arguments presented by a religious person in a non-discussion, but we should be careful about poisoning the well.

Please, note I am not defending the overall message that he presents in his lecture. I just say that we should take care - lest we become monsters ourselves.

The video is an hour long, is it worth the time?

It's actually quite a bit longer than that. It was a two day event. This is the first of six parts making it closer to 8-10 hrs I think. Judging from the first 20 mins I would say no.

He just plain will not condemn the killing of apostates. He says it's irrelevant to his discussion. As an atheist I find that highly relevant and why would I bother watching his 8 hr propaganda if he won't?

EDIT: He did in fact say he condones it. Now I know I have nothing to watch from him.

I have to wonder if his "offense" was due to being offended or because I asked a question he didn't want to answer.

I believe he says that he condemns terrorism (or that he has done so in other videos).

You are being accused of being "off topic" for a video on Atheism..........and on that particular point I somewhat agree with him.
His presentation is a mess of loaded mis-representations of atheism. There is IMO no need to bring up other other topics in order to shoot him down.

As an atheist I find the issue to be of extreme relevance. If he would consider a life forfeit because I (or anyone else) denies his bullshit and refuses to distance himself from that then his topic isn't worth engaging for me. He did little to remove my view of Islam as a bat shit crazy cult. But I suppose like most of these religious shills he was pandering to the home crowd anyway and isn't interested in me at all. I'll bet that if you were able to get him to be honest he would insist he want's this nonsense to spread to the west in addition to ridding the east of the influence the west has had.

I think you could have asked it a different way. You might have gotten a better response.

Ah, I've joined the conversation. He's never before responded to one of my comments.

arg-fallbackName="Collecemall"/>
Now he's upset that you posted a video about atheism on a forum catering to mostly skeptics and GASP! one of us posted there. Oh the horror! I've seen some pretty thin skin but he's reaching.

I'm done with him. I have little use for extremist of any sort. When you think killing someone for denying your imaginary friend is moral then we've got nothing left to discuss. He's got an encyclopedia worth of hang ups and false ideas in his head that no amount of reason is going to change. I watched about half of the video he linked me to earlier and it's madness. He sees none of the oppression inherent in the implementation of the Islamic religious laws or how it could be inhumane. Or why civilized countries won't allow barbaric punishments for religious crimes.
