'Creation' not going to be released in the U.S. (FAIL)

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6173399/Charles-Darwin-film-too-controversial-for-religious-America.html

'Creation', starring Paul Bettany, has failed to find a distributor in the U.S. The reason for this: it's too controversial, and offends the deeply religious population.

Fuck
that
shit.

How am I supposed to see the movie now?

Sorry but it's pobably true, we'll just say "special".

I'm sure you'll find lots of ways of getting the movie though (not in the cinema).

They director should have added a few explosions, a car chase, and a shoot-out. Then it would have no problem being shown in the States.

I came on to post this exact story. It's insane that we're approaching 2010 and this still can't be shown in the US, but movies featuring any and every sort of violence sell out theaters repeatedly.

The only thing worse than this not showing in the US would have been the inevitable reaction from the religious community if it had been shown. Imagine the amount of protests and interruptions the movie would have had at it. It would have likely dwarfed the ones at The DaVinci Code.

It's not about people who know where to find it though. That censorship is about the people who don't know or don't want to know.

WTF?
If I don't want to see a movie because I find it offensive I don't go to the cinema.
I thought those people were also advocating "free market" and stuff.
I'm sorry for you guys.

What really gets me is that "The Passion of the Christ" was a very high-grossing film here in the U.S. 2 hours of a man being whipped and beaten and executed is less controversial than this.

I really hate living here sometimes, alone in a sea of stupidity.

Not alone Kat, just seemingly isolated ;)

Yeah, this really blows actually. I'm pretty pissed that it's not going to be released here. Guess I'll just have to bootleg it >.<

So a movie containing violence is perfectly acceptable but a movie about the life of someone very important in our history is not. That's just sad.

Uk=We have Charles Darwin on our currency

I like living in the Uk ftw. As for how you'll see it. Meh depends, I'm sure there will be some sites letting you buy it online and have it sent to you via DVD when it comes on it.

Simply wait till then is all I can say.

I doubt it would be very accurate anyway.
Meh, it'll still probably make for a good film. And the educational benefits to the population will be worth something.

I would never have seen it anyways. As I said in the other thread on the topic, Jennifer Connelly is about as exciting as boiled white rice.
