Phil Collins (while still amongst Genesis) channels Televangelist Ernest Angley...
I know this is an old song, but I ran across it about 2 months ago, and it almost seems like it should be mandatory viewing for people across America. It's catchy all right, but it's a sad truth at the same time.
I especially enjoy how "God" is cover for a bookie... or the bit about the classical nuclear family.
BTW, for those who aren't familiar with Ernest Angley, Phil did an interview where he mentioned him as the inspiration -- which is also how I managed to look up this tune again.
