Anyone played Civ V yet? I got the demo and was browsing the new government "talent tree" type things and got a little irritated when I found you could advance your nation's "piety" giving you benefits to culture and happiness. Theocracy gave your civilization a bonus. :x
Then I got down to the rationalism "tree" that gives bonuses to science and noticed

Rationalism cannot be active at the same time as Piety.

Oh, and the game looks pretty cool too.

So has the full game been released already, or just the demo?

The full game came out in North America and will be out elsewhere on the 24th, but if I understand correctly the demo is available everywhere on Steam.

Also note that I intended to be asleep an hour ago.... damn you Sid Meier, grumble grumble...

I haven't bothered with the demo, but I do have it pre-loaded on Steam. I'm really looking forward to it! :)

I don't have the money for new games, I bought Civ 3 and 4 for around a tenner instead. :D

I'm going to download the demo, see if my PC is up to it and if it is, I'll probably get it.

I got it, and I have finished my first game as Americans.
Add me on Steam if you are up for some multiplayer.
Tylzen <-- Steam.

The demo crashes on me for some reason unless I watch the whole damn intro movie through...

It's a great game. About 30 to 40% of the community are still throwing a hissy fit that it's not Civ4.5, but the majority are definitely in favour of the changes.

I've been bringing the might of Babylon to the heathens of the world for a few days now (gotta love Marathon)

Glad to hear it. I heard it was a bit buggy/crash prone. Is this true? I've downloaded from steam it but as I'm in the middle of a Mass Effect 1/2 playthrough I thought I'd give it a while to be patched.

From what I've heard the bugs/crashes were mostly related to the Demo. Haven't heard much about crashes related to the game itself.
