I went to youtube to listen to Handel's "Messiah" because it's just a fine piece of music whether it's religious or not and coming across a great version by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, I did what I always do when I watch a YT video: I scrolled down to read the comments. I'll link to the YT page rather than embed the video since it's the comments that I want to address in this topic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skgrFTu6KTI&feature=related
Particularly the second highest rated comment by the user iluvschnix. I've seen comments like these plenty of times on videos of christian music, and they just baffle me. I mean I would never have even thought stuff like that when I was a christian, so the fact that people come on youtube and post this stuff after, I presume, feeling some sort of spirtual connection with god and evoking some emotion, just seems mental to me. Does anyone else just cringe when they read comments like this?
