Researchers at the Large Hadron Collider just recently started testing the accelerator for running at the higher energy of 13 TeV, and already they have found new insights into the fundamental structure of the universe. Though four fundamental forces – the strong force, the weak force, the electromagnetic force and gravity – have been well documented and confirmed in experiments over the years, CERN announced today the first unequivocal evidence for the Force.

I don't have the link handy but they also posted this week (or last) that they thought it likely that the next round of tests would demonstrate parallel universes to ours. Part of that was the creation of small black holes. Something to do with the increased power they now have at their disposal. I love the times we live in but I'd give almost anything to see what is in our future 500 years from now or a 1000 or 10,000. If you consider the exponential rise in our knowledge and computing power tin the past half century the limit to what can be achieved is our imaginations. Is it so crazy to think that in 10,000 years we might actually be gods? I mean realistically we'll have been immortal and omniscient for a good 3-4-5 thousand years by then. Hell I imagine if you sent one of us back to 1000 BC with the knowledge any one of us has now we could have THEM convinced we were god and the answer to their prophecies. I'll volunteer if time travel ever becomes possible.
