Anyone pick this up? It's a good game. Imperfect, but hopefully they'll finish fixing it up.

The entire Call Of Duty Franchise is dead to me. I personally prefer Crytek's series of games (Crysis 1, Warhead, and 2; as well as the Far Cry games). Although to tell the truth .... the only time I ever feel motivated to play on PC Games is when I have absolutely nothing else to do, which is probably why I have them. And of course, the times when I do play on such games have become an increasingly rare occurrence following my increase in activity on this forum, plus college work. The last game I played was Crysis Warhead, and that was .... at least 4 months ago .... :p

'Battlefield 3', from all I've seen of it, looks like it might be worth a go, so I'll order it. :)

It has a single player, but it's not very good. The game is about the multiplayer.

this made me lol

Everything sold by EA is off limits to me. They're not interested in customers who care about the security of their systems. I tried to install the Battlefield 3 Beta and my computer rejected it like turned milk. It [the installer] was trying to install a rootkit - and I can't fathom why they think they deserve that level of access to my system. Good thing I tried it on the free beta rather than buying the game. Also a good thing I caught it when I did cause I had been thinking of trying out their Space RPG.

I have a 3.7 K/D ratio due to my awesome ability to Rambo tanks and hold positions.

Seriously -
Give me C4 and I can put just about any tank or vehicle out of commission in 3 seconds.

"Someone, draw this tank's fire!"
*Squad member shoots at tank. Tank turns and starts firing their way.*
*Charge Tank. Hop on top - C4 on the top hatch. Runs towards back, and drops C4 on the back.*
*NINJA LEAP! + Mashing R1*

Disabled a vehicle +100
Destroyed a vehicle +100
Killed an enemy +100
Killed an enemy +100
Defended the Flag +10

Wash, rinse, repeat.
The slightly tweaked physics engine is taking some getting used to though - my inability to find good squad mates that can fly a fucking heli leaves me at a bit of a loss sometimes.

I can't quite pilot a helicopter or jet myself. I can keep it in the air just fine but I can't kill anything with a jet.
For all the rest the game is quite fun, albeit frustrating at times when the team your on seems to fail so hard.

I can pilot helis, which I think is harder. Jets... there are some good videos on jet piloting, I could try to dig them up for you.

Remember Q, or select, or back, to spot! And designate targets if your squad leader. Free points! Your team is more likely to win!

MW3 is a Shakespearean masterpiece. I will get BF3 eventually, after Assassins Creed, Arkham City and Halo Anniversary.

MW3 is full of boosters and hackers - and it's got a linear layout of places you can take and hold. There's no teamwork aspect and it's been mobbed by griefers and aimbots.

Yeah, I noticed... and it is the worst I've ever seen. I'm glad I'm just renting.

Pick up Battlefield 3, Joe.
The EOD bot is easier to drive than an actual one. xD

TO be fair BF3 has it's problems too. Lots of people who don't seem to know how to play the objectives. Plenty of boosters (though if on PC you'll probably never see them in your servers, they have their own servers)...

But on the bright side BF3 has deeper, more tactical, more strategic, teamplay game mechanics.
