Atheist Symbol...

arg-fallbackName="Mapp"/>
I prefer to avoid symbology altogether. It carries connotations of orthodoxy. Symbols of this kind are divisive, they're designed to set a group apart from the rest. I don't consider atheism to be a priviledged position, I consider it a normative one. We don't need a symbol for sanity, and we don't need a symbol for atheism.

Now you're going to be labeled the anti-christ. Don't you know Jesus was the way, the truth, and the light

being labeled isn't perse a bad thing, it may exclude to some degrees, but also includes to some degree.
it sets borderline which sometimes have to be made.
to some it may not seem appealing, but i think it nessecary.
to some extend atheism being labeled a religion can be good, though this would be an more interesting discussion for a new topic.

i think this would be a decent non-discrimitive symbol that could be used, which is possible to many interpertations.

I found the Out Campeign recently, and I think I'd tend towards that, having seen what they're about. It's to stand up and be counted in a basic belief in order to let others know that they're not alone in the world. This is something I think I can full-heartedly support, as it represents something somewhat different from trying to spread and "preach" atheism.
