I think if anyone was to meet Phi, and hang out with him long enough to get a good reading, they would find that he's actually quite average on the intelligence scale. He hasn't made any insightful comments yet, nothing above a sort of high-school level appreciation of any topic. He knows some of the words but doesn't use them correctly. If he does post his Einstein problem it will no doubt be riddled with math errors. But then, I don't expect his Einstein problem contains any math anyway. It's more likely to be a screwed up logic problem that was wrong from the start. Much like his example of clothing in a nested hierarchy. Fundamental errors right from the start, that would be Phi.

I think you're being overgenerous. It reads exactly like something regurgitate straight from the arsebiscuitsingenesis playbook.

The real kicker is how he talks about how hard quantum physics is to understand, but then immediately assumes to fully understand evolutionary theory.

He may actually be intelligent in the mathematical area, but that doesn't cover all aspects of life.

I think we have a Dunning-Kruger case on our hands.

He is carrying over his confidence in one field to another, thinking they're the same.

I don't agree with your second sentence ( you were being generous, I know). Your third sentence is right on the money.

I think to understand where he's coming from you just have to read the very first message provided by AronRa

I can beat anybody on evolution of relativity debate, pro or anti. Pick your side, I'll own you.

There you have it. He claims he can beat anyone in a debate.... pro.....or.....anti. In other words, he isn't really interesting in finding the truth....pro....or....anti, and then defending and expanding it. He's only out to try and win an argument.

This is the arrogant stance of an idiot. He obviously has no interest in scientific truth, he's just out to inflate his ego. The legitimate question is, why does he try so hard?

As we all know, AronRa has a very good reputation. He's earned it the old fashioned way, through integrity and hard work on behalf of a topic he holds dearly. Imagine the hours of study, the late nights, the crammed weekends. The hours and hours he dedicated just to learn the topic. Now pile on that the hours and hours he spends, voluntarily, in raising awareness of science through his website, youtube videos and debates.

AronRa is not Darwin, and he's not Einstein. Those two giants stand far above us all. But he does share a quality of honest scientific integrity and this earns our respect.

That is what Phi is lacking, I believe, respect. I don't know him of course, but I seriously doubt he has done anything in his life to earn the kind of respect I'm talking about, nor is he particularly capable of earning it. Just re-read some of his snide arrogance in his 'introduction' to AronRa.

So if he isn't capable of earning it through hard work what can he do? Well, he'll try to steal it with a short cut. If you are desperate to appear intelligent and worldly, but incapable of actually putting in the work, you may think that by defeating someone who has the qualities you lack, you will somehow don their mantle. Here he has managed to set his sights, not only on AronRa, but on Darwin himself and even Einstein. Stupid youthful arrogance on full display. Trouble is, it won't work. Because to defeat someone you need the very tools that you were incapable of developing in the first place. And that is Phi's dilemma. He is overmatched, outgunned, and he doesn't even realize it. Classic Dunning-Kruger.

I think you're absolutely spot on.

And I noticed that one, too. It made me very suspicious. It bears the marks of someone who thinks they can "semanticize" every issue - spin it in any direction. It reeks of dishonesty.

I don't think we can actually dignify this by calling it a debate because it's not a debate. It's essentially that thing kids do:

"Do you know the answer to x?"
"yeah"
"What is it then?"
"I'm not telling you're only asking because you don't know the answer".

That Phi supposedly thinks he can render Darwn and Einstein redundant is the biggest joke of all. I'm still not convinced the guy isn't just a troll but either way he's an idiot.

Wait; did phi tran admit to being a creationist? Oh well, this is why people laugh at phi tran.
Pterosaurs are not dinosaurs; no scientists would claim that they were. Furthermore, no one claims, as the comment seems to suggest, that pterosaurs evolved into birds.
I am not even going to touch the Feduccia reference he got from pbs. The only thing I will say is that even if Feduccia and the other BANDits are right they still agree that evolution happened. They are only claiming that birds did not evolve from a dinosaur, but another archosaur.

Actually, Phi hasn't confessed to be a creationist. He HAS confessed to being able to be able to debate ANYone on this subject, pro or anti. And he HAS confessed to hating how evolutionists are arrogant, or something to that end.

Motive established, position clarified.

So he jumps into a debate with AronRa...
And THEN he had to go out and research stuff on Wikipedia?

By doing so, he has confessed to not be properly qualified to even debate anyone, let alone hold a qualified position on this subject.

These confessions really amount to outright lying.

I may have master degrees, but I'm still lazy when it comes to reading articles.

 This guy is full of shit. Aronra could be using this time making more videos.

Hi, welcome to the forums! ;)

You make a very good point. This Phi guy has been stealing our AronRa away from video making.

That's precious time where I could have listened to the divinely soothing earcake that is AronRa's voice.

Well, that's how I do research... when I'm just trying to look up something that someone said, or whatever.

Seriously, though...

Not only did this guy do sloppy research, but he apparently did it JUST NOW... and he came into the debate claiming he could debunk atheism. One would have thought that a claim like that was backed by research that had already been done, but noooo...

Was he just straight out lying? Or was he just so Dunning-Kruger-ishly confident that he thought he could swing this in the blind?

That's what I was thinking. He comes in confidently predicting he can win any debate, THEN he proceeds to research the subject to come up with his arguments. Like Gnug says, JUST NOW, like....the very day he's going to submit them!

Is this the stance of someone searching for the truth? Hardly. He's just out to inflate his ego. How's that working out for ya Phi? Two Master's Degrees - bullshit! (BTW-Phi, this is obvious to everyone so you can stop pretending, you don't speak or present evidence the way a person would if they had even one Master's Degree. Unless it's in a subject like 'professional bullshiting'. In that case you appear to be a full professor.)

So yet again, AronRa is forced to give someone a free education. An education that will no doubt immediately seep out of his obviously porous mind.

Jezzzzz... how embarrassing for him.

Phi - Just conceed defeat, admit that you don't have a clue of what you're talking about, and let AronRa get back to his real work. Making great videos!

BTW - @ AronRa. Did you do the artwork in the Dinobird cladogram?
AronRa's Dinobird link said:
Education is the key to understanding. Not indoctrination. And the total combined wealth of human understanding is to be found in millions of books. There is no sense reading one book millions of times, especially when that one book is demonstrably wrong about so many things.

Phi's "one book" is his overinflated ego. Which is being "demonstrably" deflated with every post he/AronRa make.

Make that four.

But when I read Phi's posts, it's like when AronRa's bird interupts him with a loud SQUAAWWK.

Then he kinda ignores it and re-starts, but again....SQUAAWWK.

Finally he turns to the bird and growls....GRRRRRR.

We're kinda at the GRRRRR phase now with Phi I think.

I may have master degrees, but I'm still lazy when it comes to reading articles.

Translation: I just admitted that I'm too lazy/stupid to do my own research, so that you guys will now be super suspicious of my claim that I have 2 masters degrees. Just to quell those fears that I don't have the degrees that I asserted that I do, I'm going to re-iterate the "fact" that I have them by nonchalantly inserting them as a presumption into my admission of laziness.

I guess Phi is still trying to figure out exactly what he's arguing. I mean.... he knows he's right.... he's just a little uncertain about what it is he is so right about. Right?

So far it's been something like...

AronRa; Look you dumbass. 2 + 2 = 4.

Phi; Everything you've ever heard about mathamatics is wrong and I can prove it... HERE... 2 + 2 = 5 !!!!

AronRa; Yer a dumbass.

Chorus; Yup, he's a dumbass.

Phi; LISTEN! - i got two degrees from my mom when I was in home-school. Don't believe me?! Go over to her house any time and look on her fridge! They're right below the fridge magnet that has my picture on it with the words "My Boy Phi is the Smartest Boy in the World".

AronRa;

Phi; I also have some groundbreaking ideas that will completely unsettle our concepts of multiplication and division!

Phi; BTW - you guys want to come to my birthday party? My mom says I have a lot of friends and they're all invited.

Crickets; *chirp..chirp..chirp..chirp..chirp*
